Spirit Airlines?

We flown them several times out of Atlantic City to Orlando. Never had any problems, no delays. As a matter of fact, we're flying with them again on Thursday! Prices are great too..

We have flown SPIRIT from Detroit to Denver (they no longer fly into Denver) and found them to be a good no frills airline. They fly the 2/3 seated airplanes.

You can check out the airplanes they fly (the MD80s) and the seating arrangement Here (SeatGuru). From all accounts, Spirit is a good & cheap alternative.

Don't know, yet, but we're taking them the 22nd. We got a great price out of Detroit, and it's a direct flight. We'll be in Orlando by 9:30 am.

We just got back yesterday from WDW flying with Spirit. We left on Sept 22 and back on Sept 27.

We have always had great service and good flights and good prices with them.

Unfortunately yesterday because the Orlando airport was closed till noon and our flight was scheduled to leave at 11:45am we were delayed. We ended up leaving at 1:30 pm instead. But we had a good, smooth flight and made it back to Detroit early.

I had to call the toll free number for Spirit Airlines a few times while the hurricane was going on to check on our flights and the people manning their phone lines were very nice and extremely efficient in trying to help us determine if our flight was actually going to leave.

Overall we have had good service with Spirit Airlines. No frills like food service but other than that no complaints.

Have used them several times out of Detroit.

No complaints whatsoever.

We've flown Spirit from AC to Orlando several times, and to Ft. Lauderdale once. No complaints at all! I prefer the AC airport to the Philadelphia airport.

With all this positive press, we should probably balance things with a Spirit Air horror story from the DIS Disney Resorts board. Apparently they have at least one very dissatisfied customer from Hurricane season.

This is good to hear! We will be flying on Spirit, next month, for the first time. My DH is a little worried because it's a smaller airport, but everyone I know who has flown out of AC on Spirit like the experience.

We just recently flew on Spirit from Chicago to Ft. Lauderdale and had an exceptional experience. Spirit will be getting my business in the future when their prices and schedules fit my needs. I actually preferred them greatly over my most recent experiences with ATA.

Spirit currently flies a fleet of MD80 aircraft which, as others have noted, has a 2/3 seating configuration. They are no-frills as has been mentioned but in terms of in cabin service I think every airline is no-frills lately. They served a beverage service and then came back through the cabin offering water and coffee later in the flight. They gave us pretzels with the beverages and also sold snack packs for $4 which were pretty nice. Spirit recently placed a large order for new Airbus aircraft and is expecting to take delivery of it's first new plane later this year.

I would definately fly on Spirit again.

I just recently went up to the Philly airport to drop of some friends from England, and it is a MESS there! It's very confusing just to park. And we went inside to try to get a cup of coffee & relax with them before they checked in & there is NO WHERE to do that! There was a guy near the vending machines that sold popcorn. That was it!!

I guess I'm just spoiled by AC now. It's much cleaner than Philly, the parking lot is extremely easy to navigate, and it's only 10 minutes from my home.

I would think, even coming from Turnersville, you'll enjoy AC!! (maybe I should be in one of their commercials!;) )

Feel free to PM me if you need any additional info!

Dopey Sharon, your husband will be impressed at how clean AC airport is, effortless parking and check in! We are spoiled by AC airport and the thought of going out of Newark or Philly gives me chills!

I am flying out on Spirit in a few weeks. I paid $39 one way from Laguardia to MCO. For that price, I will happily deal with the no frills. It is only a couple hours out of our entire week, so we don't need the luxuries that other airlines provide. I am thrilled with the rates I got and I am hoping that we have as good of an experience as most of you all had. The only thing I am praying for is no hurricanes that week.
