Spirit Airlines Experiences Anyone???

Hi all, I never flew Spirit Airlines before, just looking for some "Feedback" on this airline.


Has anyone gotten bumped from them? If so, what kind of compensation did you get (air money or free tickets or???)

I've flown them twice in the past few years out of Atlantic City. I LOVE that airport and the "smallness" of it. Cheaper parking, easier access - no "Philly attitude" from the staff. Our flights left on time both ways on each trip. If it wasn't for the DIS I would have never tried Spirit out of AC - LOVE this site.

As an aside, the last time we went, I used my Dad's old truck - I had just bought a new Honda & didn't want to leave it in the parking lot for a week. When we got back - the truck's battery had completely died - not a hint of life. The one gentleman by the gates tried to jump w/his battery jumper - didn't work, then called to someone else to get another, stronger jumper which did work in the end. This guy went WAY out of his way to help - the people there have been most friendly to us - I will ALWAYS use this airport whenever I can. Good luck & have a safe/fun vacation!!

I always use Spirit living within 45 minutes from the airport!It's the most convient! We have flown them a few times! Only 2x's have we had a problem! Once they had trouble with the plane and we got moved to a flight going to fort meyers! It didn't affect us but the people going to Fort Meyers had to goto Orlando first! I don't think we will be using spirit this time unless there proces decrease! They are outrageous! But we have never had a real problem! A friend of ours was on a flight that was over booked and they asked for volunteers to wait for another flight! He did and they gave him and another friend vouchers for free airfare in the US on Spirit Airlines! From what I undewrstand having flown them they do not have many problems like this and I haven't really heard of many from others who have flown them! Like the other post states you have to love the smallness of the airport! Although it's not real small compare it to MCO it is!
