I have always thought the spins on these rides are rather gratuitous and don't really add anything to the ride--in fact they take away from the experience in my mind. However, I can tolerate them without a problem.

Next week I will be traveling with some family members who "are not really into rides". I would like to tell them that these rides are pretty tame, but do involve some spinning. Has anyone timed the spins so I can let them know how much of an ordeal the spinning will be?

Thanks.

Of the three you mentioned, I would rank them as follows in terms of number of spins.

1. Cat in the Hat
2. MIB
3. Spiderman

Cat in the Hat is the worst for spins..IMHO.

I totally agree these spins dont seem to serve any purpose except for the MIB ride where you shoot each others ports. Oh and Spiderman has a few parts where the spin works well with the scenes. Other than that there are quite a few spins I could do without! :teeth:

For me, the worst spins are at the end of MIB when the car spins as your going through the fog, UGH! I can get a bit queasy at that point but never so bad that I dont want to get right back on! However after riding 3 times in a row I'm done for a while. I noticed last trip that every ride through we never matched up with the other car so there was no shooting the other port resulting in no spinning! Anyone know if thats been fixed?

Spiderman spinning while it is very abrupt and rough it has never made me queasy and I think this may have the most spins but the spins are back and forth not a continuous pattern.

Cat in the Hat has LOTS of spins but they arent rough and seem smooth to me. If I rode this more than once in a row it would probably be a problem. Once in the front seat is OK.

Actually Spiderman has that one sequence where you spin about 4 times in a row going through a tunnel, other than that it doesn't spin too much.

MIB has 4 places it spins, the first 2 are just one quick spin then a few seconds later another, and hitting the other car which may or may not spin you once or twice, then at the end with the final spin 3-4 times.

Cat in the Hat I can't remember.

Cat In The Hat is one ride that makes me feel ill - there are a number of spins and after riding Spidey/Ripsaw etc it's just a bit too much...my son loves it though. ;)

I have to correct myself, there's one other part where you spin on MIB, when they say "its an ambush" and you probably spin 3-4 times there also.

IMO, Cat in the Hat has spins that don't add to the ride at all. It's geared to the younger bunch and I"ve seen some little ones in tears from it.

I make sure I hit that exhaust port as many times as I can. :)

I also agree, Cat in Hat, then MIB worst for spins. Spiderman does not really bother me. Back to the Future though, is the worst of all for me personally (and most simulators). And I ride Hulk, Dueling Dragons, no problem. It's frustrating, I did not have a problem when I was in my 20s and early 30s, then boom.

I agree with Pat McDuck. I also ride DD, Hulk, and other large coasters with no problem....but keep me away from Cat in the Hat! It really made me nauseous last time, and I won't be going again. I can also do without MIB, but for some reason the spins on Spiderman don't really bother me. Maybe it's because of the back-and-forth thing; I never really analyzed it. Back to the Future and Cat in the Hat should be avoided by anyone who gets sick on spinny-type rides.
