Spinoff: Rocky Horror Picture Show

We are recording it. I love Rocky Horror but am not holding my breath. Tim Curry is my life! :lovestruc

I cannot see anyone playing Dr. Frankenfuter but Tim Curry. Saw it so many years ago. friend use to work at theater and he'd sneak us into midnight showing. Participation was always the highlight.
Music is so good, wonder if they will be worse than Glee. At least glee had the kid who was a clone for the monster.

I saw on another thread that PBS is doing a Hamilton documentary tomorrow.

Anybody planning to watch Rocky Horror on Fox tonight? I plan to check it out, although I'm not shivering with antici-------(Say it!!)-------pation.

I saw the live musical in person about 15 years ago, a bit different from the film. I'm not sure what version they're showing tonight.

Nope. I like the original version and have fond memories of watching it "live" in the theater.

I enjoyed it. The costumes were great, and Laverne Cox was terrific!

They stayed very true to the music, dialogue and staging of the original.

It was decent. I enjoy seeing a different spin on things, and I really loved some of the performances (Columbia and Eddie, particularly). It was definitely meant as a fun homage as nothing could ever replace the original.

Also so glad to see Tim Curry in this; I've just adored him for most of my life.

Not comparing it to the first film or the stage production I saw, just on its own.

My opinion of it is the same as Columbia's regarding Rocky. It's OK.

I definitely am interested in seeing it, but I don't know if it can live up to the original. I don't have cable so I'll have to wait for someone streaming to pick it up.

I thought the accents were distracting, but it was ok overall. I liked the little bits of audience participation they put in. I liked that it was only 2 hours with commercials. Always thought the end of the movie dragged at the shadowcast shows.

I have it a shot, honestly I did. I ended up changing the channel. Laverne Cox didn't work as Frank. I think it was the boobs. Frank is a man so, for me, it didn't work to have a woman in the role.

I made it all the way through and, well, that's two hours of my life I'll never get back. Some of it was good (I liked Columbia and Eddie and sometimes Janet), some of it was really bad (Magenta, the gold boxers...***). It just felt to me like they were trying to make it too polished, too perfect. And I agree with a PP, the accents were really distracting...I kept yelling "Just pick one!" I give it a C-.

Couldn't make it through either. Lasted about 30 minutes...

Can't replace Tim Curry!

I love the original and was surprised that it wasn't too bad, IMO. I am very glad that Tim Curry was still involved (I :lovestruc him!) and I thought he looked wonderful, given his medical history. My 1-year-old was quite taken with it (yep, Mother of the Year here :scared:  ) but DH's expression clearly said "What on earth am I watching???"

I can't watch it tonight because I'm onstage performing in it tonight! Lol. In our second week of a three week run of RHS! I will tape it but to be honest what bits I have seen don't thrill me. Seems like Glee doing RHS. Needs more down and dirty grit and less pop. Who knows though. Can't really say until I see it. :)

I'm right there with you! I did the show professionally for two years and now I can't imagine watching the PG14 television version!
