Spinoff - movie endings that got it right

So, just the opposite this time. What movies got the ending SO right that anything else would have been a letdown? The kind of ending that "made" the film.

I can think of several obvious ones, and I hope to see them here. But, I'm going to go with The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. Yes, I know I said John Wayne should never die, but let's face it - this was really a Jimmy Stewart movie, not a John Wayne movie. And the final scene (and especially the final line) was just perfect!

Dirty Dancing ("Nobody's puts Baby in a Corner" .....cue I've Had the Time of My Life...)

And so I don't sound like a total child of the 80's: Shawshank Redemption was perfect.

Stephen Kings "The Mist".

The ending for the movie was different from the short story and was way better..way more drastic. Even King himself has said that the movie ending was better.
