Spinoff: How old were YOU the first time you went to Disney World (or Disneyland, etc)?

I was 37 when I finally got to Disneyland :yay:. I had been waiting since I was 5, but travelling overseas wasn't as common back then. Went with DH, DD (7) & DS (4). Unfortunately that started our Disney addiction  :thumbsup2.
3 years later we went on our first cruise which was with DCL & then to WDW.
This year, all going to plan, we will be at DL Paris for the first time.

Does in the womb count? There's a picture of my pregnant mother and my brother by the castle and she always said that was my first trip. Out of the womb, either age 1 or 2, for WDW.

For DL, I think I was 33. DL Paris, 27.

Not sure. I think my first visit to Disneyland was probably when I was 2. It was at a time when you still needed ride tickets. I think we still have some ride tickets stashed in my parents' place, but I'm not sure where. I don't think there's still an admission ticket, which I've heard are still valid if unused.

Now my cousin who lived in Los Angeles County was kind of the one who went often. Any time guests would visit her family, it was her job to be the escort, even without her parents. This was before annual passes, but she basically got to go about 20 times a year paid for by someone else.

WDW - Around 4 years old.

DLR - 29 years old.

Really fell in love again when I was 26 though!

I was in my early 30s when I went to DL. Late 40s/early 50s when I got to WDW. I'm a late bloomer, apparently.
:)

I was 16 and
Al this talk about the "best" age to take your kids to Disney World...

I was thirty four. :tink:

When I was a kid, I used to go to travel agencies and collect Disney travel brochures and dream. But, I knew we could never afford to go there, so I tucked it away as a "bucket list" kind of thing. Which meant I was completely surprised when my husband suggested spending a week at Disney World, on our way back from visiting my relatives in Mississippi (we took three weeks one spring and drove down from Ontario, with the kids).

I'd picked up the Unofficial Guide, made a plan, and we showed up at the Magic Kingdom before the park opened. I still remember walking up to the castle, with everything still damp and the sky glowing, very few people around, and looking over at Tomorrowland and just being utterly floored at the sight of it all.

I'd never seen a real "theme park" before (just Six Flags type things), and this was SO much more than I'd ever anticipated.

It was a truly magical moment, and I do wonder if I would have been as awestruck, if I'd been a child.

So, how old were you, the first time you visited a Disney park?

I was 16 and just finished my junior year of high school. I went to WDW with my Girl Scout troop. Only MK and Epcot existed then.

7, and I was super upset with mom and dad having not taken me before - I asked them why we hadn't been there before as we walked toward to the castle. When we went to Epcot, the whole family was in love. I knew it was my place:) We went annually after that and they still love it. That first trip they deemed my brother, 5 years my junior, too little, and its one of my BEST and clearest childhood memories.

I was 5 when I first went to Disneyland. I've now been there 19 times. I'm 37. In exactly four weeks, I'm going to Disney World for the first time ever.

Disney world I was 4 and I remember 3 things from the trip losing my mom(she was like 2 feet away from me), hating space mountain, and riding dumbo (my favorite movie at the time.).

Disneyland I was 16.

I was 40. Growing up I was the oldest of 8 and dad was a factory worker so no vacations for us. What got me there at 40 was my aunt. I was visiting her and she and another of my aunts and 3 cousins had a trip planned and talked me into talking one of my sisters into meeting them there. The addiction was born! I've been at least every other year since except for this year. Probably won't make it next year either as my sisters and I are planning a cruise. Hopefully in 2019.
