Spinoff: Do you have any stories about Disneyland being haunted?

Big Thunder Ranch path...if what people say about it is true, I'm gonna have to check it out when I'm next there...late at night. >:D

The path we're talking about--that the one that goes behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad? Can someone explain? Nothing comes to mind. Thanks. :)

Yep - that's the one - goes past the old Festival of Fools Hunchback Theater and past the Ranch with the goats you can pet.

I noramlly find wooded paths like that very comforting, due to growing up hiking and camping, but not this one.... it's fine during the day, but not after dark. ;)

I hear there is every reason to be freaked out when you see the Andersons- I've heard they're not very nice.

that would be cool to se a ghost at disneyland. might have to ride pp to see if its true. i have not actually been on it yet so would be weird to see them.. might think they were part of the ride.

would anyone want to live at disneyland as a ghost?

O.K. Sy, I somehow doubt the validity of your Anderson's tale.
The only Anderson's that I can think of off hand, is Anderson's soup, which is very tasty.

If you don't believe me be at Peter Pan at closing... You will see them enter the ride after the last guest. A tall bald man and a woman with extremely large hair. You will only see them if you "believe" ;)

My fully charged camera died 2 different times. Once after riding Peter Pan. And once in DCA before riding TOT.

We watch Ghost Hunters and their camera's only die if they encounter entity's
that use the power to manifest.

We LOL and joked about it being Ghost's!!! Who knew????

Yes, and the tall man, and woman with big hair, probably work there, and in this life, not that afterlife.

I do think the story of the Andersons is fun (nothing more, yet!) but I do have an issue with just someone making up a ghost story based on the real fatalities that have occured in the park(s). I just think about the parents of the girl who died in America Sings and how that would be hurtful to them to hear people making up silly entertainment based on her demise. I've read her parents still live in the area and still get letters from people who want to pay their respects to their daughter.

For me the ghost storytelling fun stops when it comes at the expense of someone else's tragedy.

Do you believe that the poor girls ghost does haunt Dl? or is it a pure fabrication.
I do not know the details about her death, I will just say, how so very sad and tragic to know that she passed in an accident at Disneyland, I sure do wish that whatever events took place, that caused this death to occur, had not. I am very much hoping that whatever the exact causes were, will never occur again. How terrible would that be? to have a tragic case, repeated? it would be most horrible of course, and senseless.

She was crushed when the Innovations building housed the America Sings attraction and the seats revolved around the different stages. She was caught between two stages by the moving seats when she was crushed by the stationary wall that separates two stage areas. Disney then put in breakaway walls after her death. You can find more info on it by googling disneyland deaths or go to Wiki and look at the Disneyland incidents page.

I do not believe personally nor have I ever heard any people claim that she haunts Disneyland or Tomorrowland or The Innovations building and I hope nobody close to her ever hears that either.

Okay folks. Here is my story.
Last year in November, it was a cold clear crisp night. We were walking from BTMRR right in front of the Golden Horseshoe. I swear SWEAR! I saw an old cowboy with a long handle bar mousestache :rotfl: wearing either white or cream colored chaps and a red shirt right in front of the G.H. . It was just for a split second. I dont know if it was goose bumps or what but I swear just as we passed that spot, I got the shivers all over. It kind of freaked me out a bit. I do know that we have walked that area and the path behind the BTMRR many times at night and have felt a "freaky" feeling. It feels kind of oppressive. Like one is being watched.
I have never seen a ghost , I have always said that I wouldnt see a ghost if it sat on my lap and helped me open the mail.
I do believe in ghosts though. So there is my account. Maybe old cowboys flock to the Old West area of DL because it reminds them of something from home.

Ooh, that is such a cool and kind of spooky tale, Corpsebride, I cannot remember if I have walked behind BTM, I believe I have, but not at night, I have not so far, found myself walking in Frontier land, at night. Maybe I should try do that on my next visit. I will have in mind to take a camera, if I ever buy one! ;) of course that would mean having to carry one more item, however, considering it is Dl. and I am very interested in tales of the supernatural, I think I can handle it! ;) he he! seriously. :)
Next time that you walk that way, please do take some pictures, and ask some questions out loud, if you have a small good quality tape recorder, take that along, that way, if you cannot hear anything out of the ordinary, evp's may be picked up by the tape recorder, that would be so awesome, and cool!
You know, it has been said, that when one gets the shivers, unless it really is just because of simple draft, it isn't it is from being ghosted. That is what I call it, also when one is listening to a true tale, you can get that feeling as well, for the story that is being told, is true. The shivers is from the ghosts presence.
That is funny! about a ghost sitting on your lap, while you are opening the mail, and you would not know it! he he! I some how though believe that you would! now that would be pretty awesome!

Maybe he was getting himself a Turkey Leg! That is just a few feet away from the TL/Chimi kiosk where you saw him!

My grandma used to tell me the best ghost stories about the civil war era houses she and her friends lived in during the first half of the 20th century in rural Arizona. Kinda like Goonies before there were Goonies, she would infuse all kinds of elements like the Old West, Apache and Navajo Indians and weather and nature. It used to freak me out but I loved it and miss it! Now looking back and knowing the kind of personality she had I know she was just making things up based on her childhood to entertain me!

The BTMRR back way by the ranch gets to me too... from all the cigarette smoke I get deluged with! Cough cough!

I think the creepiest part of DL (besides the HM) is that less-walked path at night that goes from the front of Tomorrowland to the backside of The Matterhorn at night including the area by the fountain. It doesn't feel like either "land" and it is secluded and dark!:scared:

:wizard: I will definitely take pictures in that area next time we are there. I like your term "being ghosted" can I steal that? There was not a draft but it sure was cold. I had a very long coat on and a long sleeve shirt so when the shiver went through me I really felt it.

 Yes, I totally agree. It gets really dark over there and kind of quiet. Not much action going on. You cant see much and unless you hear a scream from the Matterhorn, its very ..... silent.

:rotfl2: And your Grandma sounds like she was a great person! What cool memories to have.
I know, me too . Here is an :offtopic: off topic but I saw a guy walking down Main Street smoking a cigarette. I really wanted to ask him to put it out , but I also didnt want to be rude. What is the group opinion here?

:sad2:

I just really wish smokers would only smoke in the designated areas. My dd6 and I are both really allergic to cigarette smoke. I get terrible headaches from it, and she breaks out in eczema. If smokers would stay in the designated areas, we could avoid the smoke altogether. I think that some smokers just figure that the rest of us aren't really going to die any sooner because of minimal exposure to their second-hand smoke while at Disneyland, and I suppose they're right. But I don't think many of them consider that there are a lot of people out there who have an allergy and adverse physical reactions to cigarette smoke, which can really put a damper on our Disneyland visit. :sad2: I really wish they would.
