When I was a kid, we always put out our empty baskets and the Easter Bunny filled them like Santa does for stockings, but lots of my friends, the Easter Bunny brought them a whole new basket each year.

What do you do?

We reuse the same baskets year after year. When DS was a baby I bought a basket that I thought was adorable -- with pretty little flowers painted around the edge. It certainly looked a little "girlish" but, heck, it was spring/Easter and he was a baby. When DD came along, I tried to get him a "big boy" basket (plain white) and pass the girlie one to her. But he was having NONE of it. That was *his* basket... and still is. He's 18 now!

Some years we do, some years we use creative containers that can be re-used for something else. This year, I forgot to get anything, couldn't find last years baskets, so we had Easter piles instead.

If they’re leaving empty baskets then I’m up past my bedtime trying to get them filled. If I have new I can pre-fill, pull them out of the closet and go to bed. I try to make sure they have another use. I’ve used totes, laundry baskets etc. This year it was Loungefly Disney Backpacks for vacations.

Same baskets.

Though my kids are 24, 21, 20 and 17.

I went in the attic Saturday for the 17 year old's basket.

Did not find any Easter baskets. I vaguely remember tossing a couple of them because they were broken when we did a major clean out of the attic this winter. So I guess I tossed all of them.

I have several other baskets, so I grabbed one of those for the one I needed.

When they were all home last year, I used spring/Easter gift bags. I'll do that next time if I have Easter goodies for all of them.

DS has had the same basket since he was a baby.

(But there's no "leaving it out" ceremony. - It was filled and in the closet days ago.)

I bought my girls a nice basket and made quilted paddings for the inside. I did not want Easter grass all over my house for years :) I was in college still finding grass in my room from when I was a kid! Obviously, I reused those every year. Growing up my Mom always bought the cheap basket from Safeway or TG&Y. And it was never a "surprise look what the Easter Bunny brought". For my girls I did do the surprise bit. For the last several years I've just been getting the girls a chocolate Easter Bunny. They are grown and I am done! And, I get to focus on my granddaughter from now on :)

Same basket. I just passed my childhood Easter basket to my son (he's 1.5) this year. Up until Sunday, my mom still packed "my" Easter basket. We love holidays!

Same baskets they had as babies. Oldest is 26. I had to do some basket repair yesterday before filling them (reapply some ribbon and hot glue a loose handle).

I try to reuse them as often as possible. Their primary ones are cheap $.97 plastic buckets form Walmart. I considered getting nicer ones this year but didn't. The old ones have held up and stack well in the Easter tote.

I used to do new baskets and then one year I got really nice baskets and used them every year. Then not long ago I got rid of them as I thought I was going to stop with the baskets. Kids are away at college so I just picked up cheap Easter buckets and filled those. Should have kept the baskets lol.

We generally reuse year to year. This year it was Good Friday before I realized we had not yet decorated for Easter. I asked my husband if he was up for the two person job of going up into the attic and handing stuff down and he said no. We had Easter piles at their place at the table. Kids are 18, 15 and 12. 12 fussed Saturday night when she heard the plan that she wanted her stuff hidden so when 15 was up first I had her throw 12’s pile into a plastic target bag and hide it for her sister.

When my kids were little we reused baskets. They all matched.
Now for the kids and grand kids....new. Usually plastic buckets. They use them a lot. Sand box......and if it is outside things, they rot in the sun over the summers, so always ready for new ones.
Some times for adults it will be plastic bowls.....for salads, chips, etc

My daughters had the same baskets all the while they were growing up. My mother pulled out my old basket for my oldest daughter's first Easter and started filling that for her every year.

Usually the same basket for DS 27, but this year I had loaned his basket to DNephew at church the previous Sunday and didn't get it back in time. So this year I used a different basket that he had since he was a kid. I loaded it up for him and his DFiancee. And I did all candy. No t-shirts, games, money or gift cards. I saw some pictures of baskets that would have passed for our Christmas gifts as a kid!

When my son was born, I splurged on a really nice basket with his name embroidered on a fabric liner. So we put that out every year. He does have a 2nd "cheapie" basket that we also put out for "overflow." I don't even look at the basket aisle in the stores, we always use the baskets we have.
