Lately, I have become obsessed with reading about Walt and his business. Mouseplanet did a review of a new book by a Disney press agent,Charles Ridgway, who was with Disney for 40 years. It is called Spinning Disney's World, and it was worth every dime!

I was fascinated with each little inside story. The book is packed with narratives about the development of WDW itself. If you love the Magic Kingdom and all other parks at WDW, you will love this book.

Don't know if Charles Ridgway himself ever trolls the DIS, but if you do....thanks for writing this amazing story of your years at Disney. What a charmed life you have led!

DW and I have been reading that book together as well, and we've really enjoyed it! We just finished chapter 13 last night.

The only nit I have to pick is the extent of the name checking he sometimes does. It's not really necessary to list the names of 12 celebrities he's encountered, then follow up with another half dozen in the very next paragraph.

But other than that minor irritation, the book is a great read. I always enjoy the stories of people who were actually there when history was being made. :)

That bothered me for a bit, too. I also noticed that Ridgway told some of the stories several times. Eventually it started to make me smile, though. It reminded me of the way my grandfather used to tell stories, including every little detail and repeating the good points twice.

You're exactly right about that! :thumbsup2
