Hi all, I am most interested in a recipie for creamed spinach. A few years I attended a conference in memphis....and close to beale st I had a nice steak dinner, and one of my sides was creamed spinach. I have never eaten it befor or since, but I can still taste how delicious it was !!!!!!

There is a place over in Brooklyn (a very good steak house) that serves very good creamed spinach and we get it every time we go there. The good steak houses seem to have the market cornered on the good creamed spinach. I don't have their exact reciepe but I did find a reciepe that sounds like it would be very good:http://www.recipezaar.com/search/getrecipe.zsp?id=25933&path= Good Luck!!! Just don't forget the really good steak to go with it! :cool1: :jumping1:

This is the only recipe I have:

Boston Market Creamed Spinach
This is a Copykat Recipe Original.
Serving Size: 4-6

20oz Chopped Spinach Frozen
1 c White Sauce (Thick)
½ c Sour Cream
1 tsp Salt
2 Tbl Butter
2 Tbl Finely Chopped Onion
¼ c Water

White Sauce
3 Tbl Butter
4 Tbl Flour
¼ tsp Salt
1 c Whole Milk

Prepare the white sauce using a medium low setting melt butter in a saucepan add flour and 1/4 teaspoon of salt until creamed together. Add milk a little at a time on medium heat. Constantly stir with a whisk until mixture becomes thick and smooth.
Place butter in a 2-quart saucepan on medium heat, add onions. Cook until the onions are transparent. Place spinach and add water to pan, lower the heat and place lid on pan. Stir several times until the spinach is almost completely cooked. Add 1 teaspoon of salt. When spinach is almost done add white sauce and sour cream, stir well and simmer until completely blended.

Can't help you with the spinach recipes (sorry) but was just curious if you remembered the name of the restaurant where you ate. I love spinach and since we're here in Memphis, I thought I would try it out!

I don't remember the name, but when you exited the front of the Peabody hotel it was on the same street going toward the river a few blocks, on the left hand side! BTW I sure don't reccomend the Peabody!
