SPIDERS...Why did it have to be....SPIDERS

Great photos of the resort, Queen. And those crabcakes look delicious. We've never eaten there before but have it on our list to try one of these trips.

Thank you for your post on my TR. (I have a PTR going)

I didn't realize you started a PTR....guess I know what I'm doing tonight:rolleyes1 Can't wait to sub to it!!

I've been contemplating the Captain's Grille for this trip. Thanks for the report of it- great timing!

Sounds like it was a perfect night to stroll around DTD!

How's your weather? We are expecting 4 to 8 inches tomorrow night. I am hoping that the snow stays away until Feb after this week.

Our weather is all over the map....today we are expecting 10cm of snow and then tomorrow we will plunge back into the deep freeze...I am truly getting sick of -40 wind chills!!

Great update!! I can't wait to hear what you end up buying. Wasn't there a story about the Dooney & Burke purse??
Oh and the spiders??? This TR has been so much fun, how can the furry little creatures ruin it. :lmao:

Yes ... there was a story about a Dooney & Burke....;) it's coming up very soon!! The spiders are coming too.... that's what happens everytime I think about those little suckers.....

Hi Queen! Hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Did you receive a card from us? I don't know if I got the postage right this time, I just put some on and didn't take it to the postal counter.

Loved your update. The food at Captain's Grille looks so yummy. We haven't tried it yet, but I will add it to my list for October! I'm hit or miss on the DIS lately but I wanted to stop by, read a little and say hello! Hope you and Jasmine are doing well. Miss you my friend!

Hello Leanne:hug: We had a great Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!! I sure did receive that beautiful card from you ... it's front and centre on my fridge!!!!

I miss you too....Jasmine says hello!!! I have to grab Dis time when I can lately...we extended our hours at the bank so I get home later now and by the time I get all the stuff done I need to do, it's time for bed. Give the girls big hugs from us please....take care my friend ... I miss you!!!

Finally I am all caught up!! It has been so much fun to follow along too. It's so making want to go back so bad. I prefer going to WDW over Disneyland. So much more to do and bing there in the heart of it all is so magical. :lovestruc
If I can't get my oldest to go with me I would like to do it with another Disney lover as myself. I think it would be great to do a girls trip. Dreaming is all I get to do for now though.lol:thumbsup2

That makes me so happy that you're enjoying our report!!:goodvibesWe have talked about a girls trip with some of my Dis-friends and I hope we can get it together in the next few years....you'll have to join us:yay:

great update!!

Sorry to hear the meal wasn't outstanding for you! I've eaten there 3x now and it has never once been busy each time we ate there!

We've always had good food. I've had both the steak and salmon which were good! Those crab cakes looked great though! I can't recall what desserts I had but they were always good.

Have you ever eaten at Concourse Steakhouse at CR? That was like my family's hidden gem for steak but now with it closed, we think Capt Grille is a close second but will never top Concourse!

Thanks:goodvibes

I loved Concourse Steakhouse, we ate there in 2007 when we went with my best friend and her family....I was so sad when it closed. They made the best pina colada I've ever had too:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I totally think Jasmine should totally do the college program. I am already trying to convince my three to do it. I was even scrolling through the info on the internet with my oldest the other day. I think I've got him convinced but of course he's only in grade 7 so I have a few years to wait. But I suppose that's a good thing. It gives me more time to brain wash him.

I didn't see any age limits on the internet and I would be lying if I didn't admit that the idea of going back to school just so I could do the college program myself did cross my mind.

Me too...and I know if she ever needed anything my girlfriend and her hubby are right there! I wonder how your hubby would feel about you leaving to do the college program:rotfl2: Noticed your ticker....so excited for your trip!!! Can't wait to hear about it, never been therepopcorn::

Hey Queen . Sorry I have been MIA for so long. I hope you had a great Christmas and that the New Year is the best yet.

Hey Dana:hug: We did and we wish you a Happy New Year too!!

Mmm those crab cakes look yummy! I always feel like Captain's Grille sort of gets the shaft on the Dis-- I almost never hear anything about it!

I agree, I said to Jasmine that I wanted to try at least one new restaurant and I am so happy we picked there!!!

Wow the yacht club looks beautiful...you got some great pics of it

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

I would love to stay there .... maybe one year:cloud9:

Hi Queen, hope you are keeping warm in all that snow and cold :goodvibes So far we've had several minor storms, but nothing big enough to cancel the school buses  I think its supposed to get really cold over the next couple of days before more snow next week, but not as drastically cold as you get.

Very cool that you saw Devine in AK, she fascinates me - hopefully we'll spot her next time. Those crab cakes looked yummy and the Yacht Club looks lovely!

Oh that would be a blast. I really need to make friends on here. I am on quite bit but don't post as much as I should. Maybe you can be my new friend?:thumbsup2:rotfl2:
Looking forward to reading more and seeing the great pictures. :surfweb:

How do I keep missing your updates?! :headache: I should probably start checking my email once and a while!
I am contemplating a breakfast at The Captains Grill for my trip but I keep making changes to my ADRs and I'm sure I haven't quite settled on all of them yet! Can you say ADD?:rotfl:
Great food photos, as usual! I really need to be better about remembering to take the pictures before I start eating!

Hi Lara!

I will be happy to see this winter behind us...I don't mind the snow or average temps, but these wind chills in the -40's I'm a little sick of!!:lmao: Jasmine finally bit the bullit and bought a Canada Goose jacket and keeps telling me how warm it is...maybe I need to purchase one also!!

It amazes me how she can walk on those stilts and still be so graceful and beautiful....

Hi Michelle!

Some of my very best friends I have met on these boards!! When we went down in January, I had planned to meet up with Hypermommy at DTD...we had chatted on the boards for 2 years and really hit it off. We met and had a drink by the water and 3 hours later we couldn't believe how quickly the time passed. As we said our goodbyes and we went our separate ways, Jasmine's boyfriend turned to me and said I can't believe this is the first time you met face to face, it was like you'd known each other for 20 years!! It was like meeting up with a lifelong friend!!

You will definitely be coming on the girls only trip:thumbsup2 Just think of all the fun we'll have planning it!!!

I have thoroughly enjoyed your story and pics so far!!!

Welcome Bridget..so happy that you're following along! I will have another post up this afternoon! My favorite part of Sunday is posting!!!

How do I keep missing your updates?! :headache: I should probably start checking my email once and a while!

Great food photos, as usual! I really need to be better about remembering to take the pictures before I start eating!

I was thinking of you this morning on my way to the gym....it's -40 and I thought "I wonder how hot it is in Kuwait right now":rotfl2:

Girl, I'm so with you on changing ADR's....Jasmine's reaction is usually "of course you changed something....OCD mother!!!! Gotta love her!!

I have a confession to make...Jasmine is usually the one that reminds me to take the pictures before we start eating.

Hope you're doing well...how many days til you leave ??:yay:

This would be a no park day! I had been looking forward to this day and it was finally here...our shopping day at DTD! My girlfriend and her family were going to be meeting us at 1130 to wander around with us! I couldn't wait to see them. They moved to Orlando in 2003 and we get together on every trip, and of course if they ever head back here we get to see them!
467.jpg

Jasmine and I decided that we would get up and head straight to DTD and have breakfast at WPE....I was so excited to have our first breakfast ever there. I ordered the french toast which was enough for three people. It's one and a half bagels, encrusted with corn flakes and it's delicious, but I ate one piece of it...very filling! Just as we sat down we saw my sister and her hubby so we called them over and they had breakfast with us!
468.jpg

Jasmine, being her adventurous self, order the plain waffle with some chocolate chips...she loved it. She said it was light and delicious.
044-1.jpg

Once we all finished our delicious breakfast we headed out to see what we could buy! I had been looking at the Dooney & Bourke's all week and kept talking myself out of them. Jasmine finally said to me one day just wait until our last day and see if you still really want one! What I didn't know is that she had been texting my sister before they arrived and asked her if she wanted to go halves on a purse for me for my birthday! They had conjured up this plan and when we went into Tren D, they told me to pick the one I wanted. I couldn't believe it....how lucky am I? I had decided before this that I wanted the larger tote, but then I saw this.......
045-1.jpg

I love my purse......
046-1.jpg

People who don't "get" Disney don't like it, but I don't care:lmao: My daughter and my sister bought it for me because I loved it and I love them. I know all my Dis friends will get this:hug: Jasmine bought a Roxy sweater, my girlfriend's daughter bought a dress and I bought a hoodie. I don't have a picture of the hoodie or the sweater uploaded but I will and post them later.
469.jpg

Before we knew it, it was time to meet up with my girlfriend and her family. We decided we would meet at EoS! We were still stuffed so we didn't eat, but they all had lunch and we caught up....Here's a picture of everyone outside the restaurant.
470.jpg

Once we were all done...the two men and the little man decided they wanted nothing to do with shopping so they all headed out and us girls went on our merry way shopping. We did WoD then headed over to the West Side! We were stopped in our tracks when we saw this wonderful sign outside Raglan Road that said Bailey's Shakes.....OMG....we had to stop! Jasmine was a little disappointed that it was water in her glass:lmao:These were delicious. It was a gorgeous day, we were with good friends and having a cocktail, in no rush to go anywhere. It was the best afternoon of our trip!!
471.jpg

At around 4pm Denice and Stacey headed home and we headed back to the Marketplace. We waited at EoS for my BIL to come back and meet my sister and Jasmine and I headed back to the resort. We had ADR's this evening at Flying Fish and I couldn't wait!!
472.jpg

I had to grab a couple of pictures of the lovebugs...they were everywhere!!!
473.jpg

We arrived early for our ADR, checked in and then went back outside to watch the performers. It was pure magic there....what an experience....I love The Boardwalk!!
474.jpg

We went in and the young man who helped us at the front and the other young man that showed us to our table were wonderful....well, wonderful to Jasmine:rolleyes1 They wished her a happy birthday, asked how old she was, asked where she was from...etc etc etc...hello....I'm Queen, nice to meet you....nothin!!!:rotfl2:
475.jpg

We settled into our table and I was quite taken with how beautiful the restaurant was! Our server was a wonderful lady whose name escapes me, but she was lovely! She also made a big deal about Jasmine's birthday and that just brought me so much joy as no where else did or even acknowledged it
476.jpg

477.jpg

I always wanted to order a cheese plate and I finally bit the bullet and just ordered it. Yummy beyond believe...Jasmine and I both enjoyed it....
478.jpg

We both decided to have the same thing....potato crusted snapper....I can't say I loved it because I didn't. Now, to be fair, I don't know if it's because of all the rave reveiws I've read or what, but it was nothing like I expected. Jasmine, however, loved it and I should have taken a picture of her plate...it looked like it had been washed and ready to put away!!!
481.jpg

Our desserts neither of us enjoyed and then they brought Jasmine another one for her birthday, which we were far too full to eat.
482.jpg

Overall, the atmosphere was nice, but I don't think I would rush back. I have to confess at that point I wish we had kept our ADR at Narcosees but I knew my sister and her hubby would love their anniversary dinner there.
483.jpg

484.jpg

It was a wonderful day and a wonderful evening. We strolled around the Boardwalk some more and both said how it was like two different places...during the day is quite different at night. We will definitly spend time on future trips there!!!

Awww what an awesome surprise to get the Dooney and Bourke that you had wanted the entire trip...I think that's my fave out of all of them.

Spending the day at Downtown Disney sounds like the perfect way to spend your non-park day.

Breakfast at WPE looks delicious...funny how I've heard nothing but rave reviews about this place, but it was one of the only restaurants that we tried and both said never again...we must have just had an extreme off night cause yours sure looks delicious.

That's too bad that you were kind of disappointed in flying fish, especially with it being a 2 credit restaurant, hopefully the attention Jasmine got for her birthday made up for it:goodvibes

Great update, Queen. Sorry you were ignored ;), but glad they paid attention to Jasmine's birthday. What a nice reunion everyone.

I LOVE your Princess bag--it is simply gorgeous. People don't understand my Disney bag either, but I don't care.

Sorry Flying Fish did not live up to your expectations (I wonder if I should take it off my list of "possible" restaurants for our September trip???).

Dumb question - What is WPE? I've learned A LOT of abbreviations lately but that's not one that I know of.

Great update!! I had been checking back a few days now to see if one had been posted!!

The food looks..okay I guess. I never really had a desire to eat there and still don't. I'd rather eat at YS or Artist Point...Jiko is very good too but I guess I'd put Flying Fish down low on the list of places to eat and would still chose one of those others first!

Breakfast on the other hand looked AMAZING!!!!

I love the DB bag. I was an anti-DB bag girl..coach was more my thing but after taking a look at some of those bags in Dec..I must say, there were one or two I could have bought and should have with my bro's friends CM Discount of 50% off even though it still would have been $100+ haha.

Great update!! Love the new purse!! What a fun shopping day!! Sorry about the meal at Flying Fish!!

I love your new purse!
That was so sweet of Jasmine & your sister to purchase it for your birthday:flower3:. That makes it even more special!

LOVE your bag, especially how you got it! That was so sweet!!

Breakfast looks yummy. I remember reading about that bagel french toast creation, but hadn't been able to find a picture of it. Thanks for taking one! That does look like a lot for one person for breakfast.

Sounds like another great day! I'm totally wanting to try one of those Bailey's shakes right now. The pic of Jasmine with her water was too cute!

Love love love the bag!!!! What a sweet gift.

Bailey's shakes....can they replace GG Slushies or will they become another fav? We don't have to choose do we?:lmao:

WPE breakfast looks so good! I miss their mashed potatoes :(

Yay for the Disney Dooney!!!!! How nice of Jasmine and your sister!

Sounds like a great day shopping and good food it doesn't get any better!
