Spice Road with view of IllumiNations?

What time should I make a dining reservation at Spice Road to have a chance of getting a table with a view of IllumiNations? I have a 7:45 reservation and am wondering if that is too late (all the tables with a better view will be taken). We are a party of 3, and this is in March with a 9 p.m. park close. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Dinner there does not take very long so you would likely be lingering at a table long after you were done eating. I don't think the time you get there will make much of a difference. It depends more on where they seat people getting there before you.

I think I would try for a little earlier. Maybe even 7:30 pm. When we were there the last week of August, we had dinner there and around 7:00 pm a family of 5 showed up and asked the staff very nicely if they could please have a table by the window and let them know they wanted to camp out until the fireworks. The staff was incredibly accommodating. They squeezed the family into a table that was really meant for 4 at one of the windows and were fine with them staying until the fireworks. There are tables both inside and outside that will have Illuminations views (though the outside might be better).

Thanks! We don't mind lingering over drinks, dessert. And tapas can be easier to linger if you intentionally space out your ordering of dishes, so I think Spice Road may work better than some other restaurants.

Thanks for the tip. I've just changed our reservation time to 6:55 (there was nothing between 7 and our original 7:45). This is when being one of those crazy planners pays off, right? Should be a good time!

We love Spice Road Table and, yes, between the small plates, drinks, entrees and dessert, you can definitely space it out. The CM's there are SO nice. It's our must-do EP TS on every trip.

1) Try for a time a little earlier.
2) Remember, most seats do not have a good view of Illuminations.
. . . could be blocked by lake fixtures
. . . could be blocked by trees (usually the case)
3) You can ask for a good table, but you MUST take whatever is offered (like Rose & Crown does)
