SPG question...When do I get my card?

I joined SPG in Oct. I joined specifically since we are staying at the Dolphin 2/27 - 3/6. When I made my ressies I gave the reservationist the SPG number that was on my email confirm. I still haven't received a card yet. Do I have to have a stay at a SPG hotel before I get a card? If yes, what do I give the check-in person at the desk, a copy of the email? Thanks

We stayed our first time at the Dolphin Dec 11-16th and I just got my card today. Yes, you receive it after your 1st visit. You do not have to show anything at checkin, or at least I didn't. Everything is already in the computer regarding SPG with your reservation information. You will love the Dolphin. I have stayed at the Beach Club and Boardwalk Villas and I would rate the Dolpin right up there with them in all aspects including location, service and room comfort.

I joined last month. Haven't stayed there yet. GOt my card in Saturday's mail
