Spending money...

Quick question I keep forgetting to ask the original poster -

I noticed you said your mother and sister are going with you. Are you paying for their portions of this trip, too?

I am pretty sure the sisters boyfriend is also going also.

Call me a skeptic, but I find it hard to believe that the girls know how much their mother gets for food stamps...or that she even gets them. Welfare typically isn't something to be proud of and many parents try to keep their financial issues away from their children.

Also, you said that she could get a job for the extra income. If I recall correctly, you said her other children are under 5, which is why they qualify for WIC? Child care for two children would be ridiculous and she'd end up bringing home next to nothing. I know many people with small children and the mom stays home because it's not worth the few extra dollars for them to work. If your husband is in the financial position, he should definitely be paying more.

They hear everything even when you think they don't...

What does that have to do anything? Now your trying to start something else...

How very sad. I know that it happens, but didn't think it was that common. I'm hoping that's not the case with the biological mom in this story.

no the bio mom lives in a lovely home far from the inner city..

No, honestly, I'm not. Just asking a simple question.

By the defensiveness, I will take your answer as a yes.

You do know that if she gets a job, she is going to lose all her assistance and will probably go after your DH for back due child support. If he is giving her $75/wk in cash he won't be able to prove any support paid.

Plus, she will have to pay childcare for two young children - that's easily over 1000 a month.

Now before someone attempts to jump down my throat, I have read every single post. Part of me feels as though I should not jump into this. Another part of me is jumping in with both feet!

That being said, I truly hope you are a troll. That you honestly do not feel this way about your daughters. Yes, they are your daughters, from the moment you said: "I do".

The mother is on public assistance, your husband only gives $75.00 weekly for 2 kids, and you are complaining about giving them a few extra dollars to buy their Mom and siblings something? This is what you complain about? If you have the funds to have the vacation club paid in full, and you have the funds to take your mother and sister, giving a few dollars to the girls for some little trinkit for Mom and siblngs should be a no brainer.

Guess that is the key here. No. Brainer.

This is sad. I hope that you go look outside, enjoy the sun, hug your kids, and step away from the thread.

oh before i forget and I have everyones attention:

I was thinking about renting a double stroller. Do you think the City Mini Double will be good for the 7 year old. She's about 48 lbs and very thin.

Which is better, Kingdom Stroller or Orlando Stroller.

TIA

:lmao: Funny stuff

yes but that would be her husband responsibilty, not mine

And her welfare would be gone, and that coupled with childcare costs, would definitely mean that your DH would have to be paying his fair share, probably including putting the kids on his health insurance. Therefore, if she got a job, not only would their finances suffer, but your family, as well. I'm guessing your DH doesn't want to her get a job.
