Hi All,

We're (myself, DH, DS(7) and DD (3)) going to DLP for a week in July and was just wondering how much spending money do you think we will need?

The last time we went was only for 3 days - 2 nights but we had bought half board standard vouchers so we ended up not spending very much,

This time DD is 3 so we would have to pay for her vouchers and she really doesnt eat very much so I think it would be a waste of money,

Last time we had a big breakfast and either took some stuff from breakfast with us or bought sandwiches etc from the train station shop for lunch and then had dinner about 5pm ish, We also took diluting juice with us because we dont let the kids have fizzy juice so they will have juice cups in the parks with them

We plan on eating at:

Agrabah cafe (Does anyone know what time it closes at in the summer?)

Cafe Mickey - Think we will order 2 pizzas to share between us plus fries and juice DD will probably have some fries and pick at a piece of pizza :sad2:

Annettes - Does anyone know what the kids meal option is and how much?

Chuck wagon - We ate here the last time and hopefully with their being a huge variety we will something that little miss fussy will eat! We will probably eat here more than once

So still need ideas for 2 more nights? Lucky Nugget and McDonalds maybe?

The kids will have a set amount of money to buy something from the stores, Last time Abbie got a minnie mouse teddy and James a buzz lightyear grabber thingy so didnt spend a huge amount, We looked in the shops to see things they liked but did the shopping on the day before last so we knew how much we could spend so will probably do that again

Any ideas of how much we should take? Need to get saving :scared1:

Thanks :thumbsup2

Hi

I would say plan on bringing €150 a day and that should cover you. I would also have a bit of money on my atm card... Just incase. Do you have shareholders?

Thank you both :thumbsup2

No im not a share holder yet but will be before we go so

Need to get saving lol

I've been a bit muddled with spending money too. We're a family of 3 - DS is 4yrs old and eats quite well. So I called up and added the half board vouchers on - I know I'll either have to add some £ to them or pay entirely for our meal at Cafe Mickey but it's made it easier for me to budget.

We're staying for 2 nights/2.5 days so I've budgeted 300 euro for lunch and spending, plus my DS will have some money of his own - probably 50 euro (from grandparents etc)

I would take slightly less but it's my birthday whilst we're out there and I want to buy some snowglobes/figurines so will put whatever birthday money I get towards it (have given hints for Euros as presents!!) :rotfl:

Also with it being my DS' first trip, I really want to spoil him a little :wizard: and I also want to sample some of the cocktails :rotfl2:

i always take too much. i prefer to come back with loads than to be caught out

i budget about 100 euros a day and never spend that much

Thats how much we took the last time but we had the half board vouchers, We hardly spent anything until we got to the airport and bought 4 cheese toasties, a coffee, a diet coke and 2 fresh oranges which came to just over 55 euros!!

I think i might go for a hundred pound per day then an extra couple of hundred just incase plus i would have my card if we got stuck

I check on the disney site to see how much the half board standard would cost and its £448, I might add up what i think we would spend on food and see if its anywhere near that

I agree with others it's definately best to have too much than not enough. It's so good having all the menu reviews and info on dlrpmagic to price up food bills etc I'd just make sure to factor in a little extra as you're there in summer for the odd ice cream or 2 ..... I am optimistic it will be nice and hot in July :goodvibes
