Spending a few minutes with Shadow

At HHI now and had a few minutes with Shadow

Lots of people think Shadow's a 'he"-I used to make that mistake, too, but B'leu Crabbe set me right a few years ago. Shadow had me kind of shook up last time I saw her-her hair was a much deeper shade of red. But then dH reminded me that she IS getting 'less young, and like me, she probably dies her hair sometimes to cover her greys. And how old is Shadow-as i was reminded in the mercantile, "It's not polite to ask a woman her true age." Shadow with her name tag-

I have to remember that, Shadow is a she! Thanks. I forwarded your picture to our Boston family. It's looking as if they'll have to wait until next year to go to HHI. They're still on the waitlist.

We're at HHI right now, and we've yet to see Shadow!!!

We saw her today. What a good dog! My dog would have been going crazy with all the kids touching.

I LOVE that she's got a CM name tag! she is Soooo cute. Is she just there to keep people company or does she "work" in some capacity?

She is this resort's Disney character. She isn't around all the time, so it's extra special to see her.

They usually have scheduled Shadow activities - meet and greet, or going on a walk around the resort. Her handler, Bleu Crabb, is quite a character himself! My daughter loved meeting Shadow - we have her autographed picture in my DD's room!

OK-I'm now officially jealous of your DD. I'd LOVE to have an autographed picture of the great Shadow. How did she get so lucky as to get that?

BTW, B'leu Crabbe told me that he started his Disney career as a roving banjo player/singer in AK in the Camp Minnie Mickey section. After a short period of time there, he was brought to the HHI resort because of his backround/expertise in the culture of the area.

B'lou is the BEST! We got to see Shadow a couple of times, once for the Sunday meet and greet and later when she was working with B'lou during an activity. She is such a sweet, gentle dog and he is just so good making people feel comfortable, besides being a fun entertainer.

I told the staff at HHI how much we enjoy our stays at the resort, and that B'lou is a significant part of the wonderful package there. We just returned home today from a great vacation, and I think I'll send an email to the "higher ups" while I'm thinking about it!

That is a great idea, so many times we all forget to let them know about things we do like.

Mike is awesome! I was down there a few years ago, and he met with me when he got off of work to give me some suggestions about Savannah. He spent about 30 minutes with me - of his own time!
