If using a dSLR, would the Ultra II HC (15mb/sec read and write) memory card be fast enough or do you really need the Extreme III (20mb/sec) if one was buying SanDisk brand? Or does it depend what type of pictures you're taking and raw or jpeg or combination of both?

it depends on the make/model/speed of your camera, and your style of shooting,

I personally buy the fastest cards I can for several reasons.
1. I don't want to be limited by the speed of my card if shooting in burst mode..
2. faster cards upload to the pc faster.
3. if I upgrade cameras in the future and the new camera is faster I don't want to have to buy new cards, just because of the write speed..
