speed limit

Years ago I'd heard a CM say that over the mic on the trams "15" can sound like "50", so they made the speed limit 14 to avoid any confusion.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

I heard the same thing while on one of the Disneyland tours (I think it was Walk in Walt's Footsteps years ago). The CM said that 14mph was different enough to call attention to it, where 15mph wouldn't register as well.

But in theory, if that were true... wouldn't "14" sound like "40"?

Not necessarily... I'm going to DLR this afternoon, so I think I'll ask a CM and see what he/she has to say.
