Hey, Jen!! :wave2: Can't wait to meet you and LL!

***I love that all of you gals are getting together for a trip. I think it sounds like great fun. I know I've seen most of you around on other reports, etc., but I met Kathy because we both frequented several of the same threads and then when Kathy had a trip planned and was staying at the CSR I was giving her some advice on my favorite resort.

Kathy, I remember reading about you wanting to write a book and I wish you much success with it.

Hi Kathy!

Someday I will get over to CSR! I was really bummed about cancelling that trip....

So glad you're here!

:rotfl:

Our next planning item was air fares. Southwest’s fares covering our dates were coming out soon and we were co-ordinating with one another to book our flights. We were expecting around 10am for the flights to be available on the website and the flurry of emails amongst ourselves to begin. The morning of, as is my normal routine before heading off to work, I was about to hop onto the DIS when I checked the SW website. The flights were up! Hours before we expected them! Eek! Right then, Amy happened to email and I quickly sent her the message the flights were out. She called to wake up Julie and the emails were flying! I booked my flights and only then did I let myself believe this was real and going to happen. :cloud9:

yes that was one lucky thought you had checking first thing...don't think I jump out of bed that quick for much at 6:30 am ;)

I'll introduce you to Ariana as well but for now I'll leave you with one my favorite Disney picture of her ever!

Hi Everyone! Spectrum Mom # 6 saying Hello!

I’m Heidi, Mom to Liam age 3 who was diagnosed this past March 2010 with ASD and my baby girl Danica who is already 15 months old! My DH is very supportive and had no problems with me going off to Disney with the girls just one month before our family vacation to WDW! I had the pleasure of going to Disney solo in October 2009 so I know how good it can be for the soul. Not to mention you get to meet fabulous DISers while you are there.

Little back story for you…..when I originally got Kathy’s email to join her on this trip I wanted to go but worried about the timing with our family vacation so close and the expense. (We started a major renovation of our house before we knew there was something wrong with Liam and before we got pregnant with Danica…..work still continues on the house so you can imagine the cost and the stress!) After a few rounds of emails I bowed out of the trip because I felt like I was holding up the progress of the other ladies who wanted to go while I tried to work it out. So a perfect storm sort of thing happened. Kathy started this PTR and I felt like I was missing out on something really good. Then yesterday I went with my family to what was supposed to be a get together to start a local support group for families with young kids with autism. Other than the coordinator from the agency, no one showed up. (It wasn’t the first time I was the only one who showed). And then last night I happened to be emailing back and forth with Amy about something else and the rest….well I’m Spectrum Mom # 6 now.

Well I'm a little late to this party and didn't think I would be joining the party...but as luck would have it my DH said yes last night and so today I became Spectrum Mom #7.

I'll be writing in orange because I couldn't think of which other color might be left, and it is fitting since I currently live in Tennessee.

Kathy approached me about the idea for her book last year when I was planning our families first trip to WDW. I declined at first because it was our first trip, and then our trip didn't happen because of medical expenses that both of my boys had last year. So she reapproached me again this past week as I am once again planning our first family trip (going in March), which won't happen until after I get to meet everyone, so many spectacular moms whose TR's I've had the pleasure of reading and look up to. And I'm over the top excited about getting to meet everyone and was so excited when my husband said yes last night I was crying. (Yes I'm an emotional person and I wear my heart on my sleeve)

Ok, so for those who don't know me, I'm Jessica, been married to my husband John for 6 years and Mom to two wonderful little boys. My 5 yo was diagnosed with high functioning autism (mild autism) about 2 1/2 years ago though he was getting speech and other services prior to that, but that is a story for another place. I also have a 2 yo who is so far neurotypical, meaning he is not on the spectrum at the moment. My son Jack attends a special program specific to children on the spectrum and he LOVES all things Disney. I'm so looking forward to taking him to Disney and also so excited to get to go on a Moms only weekend trip in January.

I am a little nervous though because I have never been away from my children over night :scared1: But think that this trip is much needed for my sanity. ;) And will help me pick up some extra tools to have ahead of time for our family trip in March.
Since I don't have a Disney picture of us yet, here is a picture of my family from last years Christmas card:

Hi Jessica! This trip will be a huge help to you for your family trip. You'll pick up on things as we do attractions and such that you might not have thought of before. Like how loud or dark things can be.

YAY for the new additions!!! I know it will be a great time for all of you to get together!!! I am also very excited to be able to try to arrange a meet to say hi to all you wonderful ladies!!

OOOH...staying at Kidani is going to be amazing!! Someday when we finally buy DVC I will make sure to stay over there!!! I'm looking forward to staying at the Boardwalk this next time.
