Hello everyone, I have been to Disney almost 20 times in my life, but I have never seen Spectromagic (its newer anyway isnt it?).

Anyhoot, what are your opinions of this parade? DW and I arent necessarily crazy about waiting an hour (which Ive heard you need to secure a good viewing area), and the thought of throngs of people shoulder to shoulder doesnt excite us either. However TGM and others said Spectro IS NOT TO BE MISSED.. do you agree?

Thanks ! :cool1:

I LOVE SpectroMagic! But if you're at all claustrophobic (sp?) it might be hard for you. We found a spot about 1/2 before it started and it wasn't too bad. The best time to see it is if there are 2 parades in one night, the second parade is always less crowded.

I love Spectomagic too! Although we had to wait 1 hr before the parade started. But I thought it was worth it!

We're pretty much in love with it. It's a definate DO NOT MISS for our family. I recommend camping out over in Adventureland. It's much better than cramming on Main St.

We used to see it when DD was younger. It is an amazing parade! Since we don't care to sit for an hour waiting and then have to defend our seats, we don't bother anymore. If you've never seen it though, it is definitely worth it.

We're going into the MK on our arrival day, just to see Spectromagic (it's too late for us the rest of our visit).

It's just beautiful, but even more beautiful is the look on my DDs faces as the fist float approaches!

its mostly beautiful but those dolls with the light up heads are just freaky!

I think it needs to be seen at least once. personally I prefer the main street electrical parade that no longer runs.. now that is a MUST see for us!

Spectro is great though.. but its very busy.. and takes hours to leave the park afterwards. If there are two spectros that night, go to the later one...

Spectromagic is my favorite parade! You should definitely see it. Depending on what time of year you are going, you may not have to wait quite so long for it, as long as you watch it somewhere other than Main Street. Frontierland usually is not quite so crowded, that's normally where we go.

I agree that you should definitely see it. My children (4 and 6) were completely enchanted. Our last trip, it was very crowded the night we saw Spectromagic, but we were still able to find a curbside spot in the Liberty Square area about 1/2 hour before the parade and it wasn't that crowded there...at least not in a claustrophobic way.

We changed our plans on the last trip to make sure that we saw it and were not disappointed. It is easily the best parade in WDW.

We have only seen it once but it was worth the extra effort. We were there in early Feb. so not too crowded, although it was only shown twice that week so a lot of people did the same as us and "hopped" into MK just for the parade. We watched in Frontierland. Got a front row seat 30 min. prior to start time but it took another 15-20 min. to begin to reach us so in all we waited 45 min. It was really good. But doubt we'd make all that effort again.

I LOVE Spectro! I always have to see it when I go to Disney. It's a must see! I always watch Spectro in front of the barber shop on Main Street. You don't have to arrive so early as the rest of Main Street. I usually get there about 40 minutes before parade time and I've never had a problem.

Have to be the odd one out, I personally don't like it (neither does my DH) It's the scary clown things that get me ever time. However I would recommend seeing it at least once. My DS saw it at 3 and was mesmerized. We were probably in a reasonably good spot on Main Street about 30 mins before, this was off peak though.

Spectro isn't my favorite parade, but you gotta see it at least once!

The last two times I saw Spectro we hardly waited at all. If you don't try to sit on Main Street, getting a seat is much easier! When we went in early May, we headed over to Frontierland about an hour before the parade (the parade goes thru Frontierland last, so if it starts at 8pm, it won't get to Frontierland til about 8:30pm) anyway, we went to Frontierland and rode Splash and BTM Railroad with NO lines because everyone was staking out their parade seat, then we found a spot no problem, about 15 minutes before the parade came down. It was great!

Depending on when you are going, finding a seat in Liberty Square or Frontierland about 20-30 mins before the parade comes through that area shouldn't be a problem. Especially with just the two of you.

SpectroMagic is not to be missed. I love this parade. The music will stay in your head forever, sort of like It's a Small World. Whenever I go to MK, I plan my park activities so I can see the parade. On the weekends when the park stays open late, there are usually two parades. I like to catch the second one, and there are usually far less people there. I usually watch it in front of the Country Bear Jamboree area. Most people don't want to be that far back in the park by the second parade. I never get enough of SpectroMagic. Make sure you see it. You'll be glad you did. :cool1:

We didn't care much for it. I guess because it replaced the MSEP, I was expecting more & was disappointed. The music was lame too. So, I guess it's worth seeing once, but I wouldn't waste time sitting through it again.

Can't wait to go to DCA next month to see the electrical parade!!!

I enjoyed it and I think it something you should do once and form your own thoughts. I refuse to wait very long for anything. In Sept the parade had just started, we skooted in the back door of a christmas shop and out the front and got front row spots.

For me it's a not to be missed parade. I have no bias, as I never saw the original show it's replaced. But I LOVED Spectromagic. And I actually liked the music as well.

We saw it on our first trip last month and it was just amazing. We had no issues with crowds. We parked a spot near Frontierland about 7:30 which was only because we were tired and we actually grabbed a seat on the curb. But there was still sitting room till about 8:10, and it was never clostrophobic, there was only one row of people standing behind us.
(But we did go at a slow time- beginning of october)

For me this parade was disney. It was the first thing I saw/did when I got to Disney and I followed it with Wishes and it was magical. I loved the parade so much (as did my family) I bought a DVD with it on it of ebay to re-live it.

You should go see it :earsboy:
