We're going to WDW March 6-12, and during this period, SpectroMagic is only on Tuesday evenings. I believe this has been the case lately. It seems like this might make for truly horrendous crowds in MK on Tuesdays, yes? If so, how early will we need to stake out a slab of concrete to have a good view of the parade? Is the park jam-packed all day on Tuesdays or only later in the day?

TIA,
Pixie

The park will not be any busier than normal for a Tuesday until after the 3pm parade. People will start coming into the MK from other parks around that time, and by Spectro time, Main Street will be packed.

As for staking out a space ... unless you feel very strongly about having an absolute front-row seat and will fall on a sword for same, don't stake out a spot at all. About 20-25 minutes prior to the parade, start in Frontierland and walk the parade route. The first open space you see, take it. Most of the crowds will gather on Main St and in the Hub, so if you avoid those two locations, you should be able to find decent viewing without losing hours of your day sitting on the sidewalk.

Hi IM also going March 6-12. I just checked disney.com and it showed that there is a Spectro parade on the 6th at 8PM and on Tues the 9th at 7PM. We usually get there about an hour before and grab something at Casey's and sit right on Main St USA have a great trip.disney.com

If it's like the tuesday I went (2/3/04) then it will be packed all day. I usually go during a slow time and have never seen 30-35 minute waits at Pirates and Small World. I waited in my spot over 2 hours for the parade, but I was alone and worn out from walking all day. Most everyone also stayed for Wishes and the crowd leaving was horrendous. I waited for the crowds to clear before I even attempted to leave. It took an hour for the lines to get down to a reasonable size at the monorail.

We also went to SPECTRO on 2/03/04. Was in frontierland and had to stand in a spot for a good hour to be even close to have a good view. The park seemed to be packed all day for a slow time of year. Talked to some of the visitors around us at SPECTRO parade and most came to the park that day because of SPECTRO. It would be nice if Disney would add another viewing of the parade during the week.

only runs on Tuesdays, the MK is usually a bit more crowded for most of the day but really gets busier after lunch. The worst part is when it is over!!! That is when the crowds really get bad as some try to leave and other scope out a spot for Wishes. I would recommend you go ahead and leave and come back another time for Wishes.

And the MK was packed 2/2 also! We were there for my birthday. I saw a 55 minute waite for PoC at around noon. Unbelievable! Our mantra became--there's always April...

Thanks for the input, everyone! I see that the March schedule has changed a lot since I checked it two days ago. Hopefully that Saturday Spectro will siphon off some of the crowds from the Tuesday (9th) when we're going. Both of my prior WDW trips have been in October, and there were very few crowds for anything. Perhaps I should start practicing my calming thoughts and relaxation exercises now! ::yes::
