Spectacular Star Wars September Exercise Challenge

I may have to up my expected minutes for next month!

It's great that you're so far along. And anything you do above your goal still helps the team! I really think we might be able to make the team :yoda: green this month!

I missed Wednesday and Thursday (just out of routine due to the start of school) but I got back in the groove today - 10 minutes of min-trampoline and 15 of "walking" the cat (I only count half of that, as it's kind of like one of those Family Circus paths ) - so 17 all together.

I really like to hear about your walking your :cat:. My first, much-missed cat walked on a leash. She was once in a pet parade with a whole bunch of :dog:. Didn't phase her a bit.

This team is doing so well, going into the weekend I'm going to throw out a challenge: can we get to Han Solo Purple as a team by Tuesday night's update? That's the 15th, halfway through the month. We're 2,834 minutes shy of Han Solo Purple right now. Some days have been close to 1,000 minutes reported, so I think this team can make it with four whole days to go! Every single minute counts, so be sure to report! (And of course, have a great weekend!)

Some trivia about Princess Leia:

Leia was the youngest Senator of the Galactic Empire (age 18). In the books and comics that follow the original movie trilogy, she is a leader in the New Republic.

The budget on Star Wars was so tight that Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill did their own stunt in the scene where they swing across the chasm in the Death Star. They did it in one take.

Carrie Fisher says her favorite scenes were when she got to argue with Harrison Ford. But it's reported that because she's a foot shorter than him, she had to stand on a box so she'd be in the frame!

After Disney bought Star Wars, Carrie Fisher reportedly said that she was now a Disney Princess.

The team challenge continues. Minutes to Han Solo Purple = 2,267

53 minutes this morning - stretching, 5K race (walk/jog), and post-race walk

553/1100

60 minutes of cardio and 6 whopping minutes of abs workout. Oh, and my niece looked fantastic on the soccer field, the score was 1 - 2, better luck next time. Can't wait for her second game on Monday night!!

Great that she did well, even if the team didn't win. Nice of you to :cheer2: her on.

17 minute video for me yesterday, plus 104 minutes walking & running today (including my first time hitting 10K!)

 for the 10K!

Back home now. Came down with a very nasty head cold at WDW. :( Walked about 30 minutes in the MK on Friday before going back to the room and resting there for the remainder of the trip.

Sorry to hear that you were  on your trip.

I've been traveling and just now getting caught up with the thread. Looks like everyone has been keeping busy! :cheer2:

Thanks for the kind words. It was a 15-miler, which was my longest run ever. Hoping to beat it once this month before heading into taper mode for some upcoming races.

WOW way to go!

27 minutes running, 33 minutes walking (that's 40:30 for the 5K, the rest fast walking to boost my endurance). I'm one of the only weirdos who likes running on the treadmill apparently :). Of course, running 3 miles is different from running 13! I'll have to start doing some outside runs through in prep for the Avengers race, because I have problems controlling my pace on my own and I'd prefer not to collapse and die on the day.

Awesome job, count me among the treadmill-haters. :rotfl:

And that's why I won't run in my glasses (well, one of the reasons). I'm terrified of rain on my glasses. I'm pretty terrified of running in the rain in general, actually.

Yeah it was not pleasant. I figure I'd better at least try to run in the rain a few times, because you never know what the weather will be for a race! Ball caps/visors will keep the rain off...I would have been OK if I had thought to wear one, haha! Congrats on hitting 10K!

Oh no! I hope you feel better soon!

Now for the update:

Thursday: 60 minutes stationary bike
Friday: 45 minutes running/walking
Sunday: 153 minutes running and a PR for the distance (thanks to cooler temperatures)

Should bring me to 825/1500, woohoo!

So very sorry that you were sick at WDW, major bummer doesn't begin to describe the let down, we feel your pain. Take care.
