Special way to say thank you to parents?

Hey! I'm new here and I just want to say that I've found so much helpful information on here. My fiance and I are taking our second trip to Disneyland in June 2012 and I cannot wait...I keep drooling over the pictures and getting excited over finding all the secrets that people have been talking about.

I was hoping that all you awesome and helpful people could give me some ideas. My parents are members of the Disney Vacation Club and they're so super duper awesome that they used their points so we can stay at the Grand Californian Villas when we visit. This, of course, is like a major treat for us since we can't usually afford such luxury. They did that for us last year, too, as a present for my college graduation and we were absolutely blown away by everything. It was like vacationing in heaven.

My fiance and I really want to do something special to thank them for their generosity, but we're stumped. I thought of taking pictures when we're there, maybe even with a sign that says "Thanks Mom & Dad," (do they even allow you to bring signs into the parks?) and making a collage for them, but that doesn't seem like enough to me. I want to do something that would really show our gratitude.

So we are visiting in late June 2012. My parents will be there in January 2012 for my dad's birthday. I'm trying to come up with something we can do either during our visit or theirs. We can't afford to do anything too extravagant because we don't have much money to spare, but I'm, of course, willing to spend within our means to do something extra special for them. Ideas? Thoughts? I'd love to hear what you guys can come up with!

What about getting a silhouette of you and your fiance done and framing it? There's a shop on Main Street that does this - I believe it's $18 for a double silhouette (two people), and frames are sold separately (or you could by a frame somewhere like Michael's if you like). Personally, I really liked the frames that they were selling, so I just got ours there.

It's a very unique gift, and very special imo. it's my favorite souvenir from DH and I's trip there in April!

Well, if they are like most parents, they would probably appreciate something memorable more then expensive...plus they probably wouldn't want you to spend much anyway...give them something that shows the joy the two of you were having like a cool picture of the two of you doing something fun or in a great location in the park, throw it in a nice Disney frame and toss in a little Disney figurine or nick nack that goes along with it. That way they can display it, see and share in the fun you had and be reminded that they were able to provide that memory for you for years to come every time they see the picture.

May seem cheesy, but the older I get the more I understand the saying "its the thought that counts"

Great idea! My grandparents had one of those done of my cousin and I when we were youngin's. Can't remember where they had it done, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Disneyland. But they must love it because it's still hanging on their wall after all these years!

That's kind of along the lines of what I was originally thinking. I like the thought behind it, too, that they were able to help make that memory for us!

Thank you both for the ideas! They both sound like a great way to provide something unique and memorable for them!
