Special Events April / May

This will be our first trip at this time of year and I was wondering if there are any special events or must dos that only happen in April / May? I know about the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot which I plan on going to, but is there anything else?

Re-opening of Star tours!

We're there up until April 15th and although it's not scheduled until May we're going to go over every DHS visit jsut incase there's any soft openings, Jack is desperate to see all the new stuff!

I can't think of anything, unless they bring back the Princess and Pirate parties next year.

Not events as such but remember that Mother's Day and Memorial Day both take place in May. We were very lucky this year as we arrived the day after Mother's Day and left the Monday before Memorial Day weekend I understand it can be very busy around this time, more so Memorial Day than Mother's Day.

I've been to MK on Mother's Day, while busy I don't recall it being overly traumatic but it was a while back and I might just have bailed at lunchtime anyhow.

On the flip side they do give out free Red Roses to the mothers on entering the park which I thought was a lovely touch (not to mention it's not often the words Free and Disney appear in the same sentence!).

Just checked and Mother's Day is the 8th next year. As above, I don't think it'll be overly busy but like I said we arrived the next day this year. However, I do think there was was Mother's Day Specials on offer at some restaurants, or maybe a free cupcake or something.

You should by far miss Memorial Day as it's towards the end of the month.

Thanks for that! It would be nice to have a treat on Mothers Day, I usually have to work! I kow it's American Mother's Day but who am I to grumble!

I think they have been refurbing the ride at Hollywood Studios for a while so this is when they are reopening. It's not something that we are into right now(sorry Torsie!) but I'm sure that as DS gets older he will want to get into it! I know a lot of people are waiting for it though!
