Special DVC parties?

As a new DVC member I was intrigued by the postings about the block parties in the summertime for DVC members. Do they have other special events for DVC members during other times of the year? First week in Dec perhaps

They had "Merry Member Mixers" last December that were held right near the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT. I don't remember how early in December they started, but we went sometime around the 22nd.
They had cookies and cider, character photo opportunities, a raffle for a big basket of DVC goodies, a pin display/trading area (not sure how that worked) and they gave everyone who attended a silver DVC keyring. Nice way to spend an hour or so.

Last year the mixers were every Tuesday in December, beginning Dec 7th. Here's a link to a post I made which includes a number of pictures.

Thanks for the info and a great link to the posting last year. Hopefully they will do this in the 2005 Christmas season as well...and as early as last year. Sounds like the way you find out is through the DIS or with an invitation mailed to your home, but it isn't broadcasted...maybe they did that the first year to test it out (?).

Anyhow, I will keep my eyes peeled and if I receive anything in the mail I will report to the board!

The Merry Members Mixer was a lot of fun too. Maybe it was most fun because of the great DIS members I met there though. I would hope they would do this every season for DVC vacationers. It's a great way to meet fellow members. Last December, we also had a "meet and greet" of our own at the SSR food court. It's always fun to put faces to the names.

They usually will send out postcards and it will be listed in the DVC newsletter/magazine as well.

There is something in the member clubhouse about brunches at the Grand Floridian during the Food and Wine Fest. Can't wait for more info!

Champaign brunches at the GF on certain Sundays in Oct and Nov. I can't wait for more information on those and I hope one falls on the Sunday we'll be at SSR.
