I'm looking for suggestions on where to take my son for his 5th birthday. We've done CP and CRT before - maybe Chef Mickey's? I don't care if it's breakfast, lunch or dinner - just looking for something special and memorable.

TIA

Chef Mickey's has a GREAT character breakfast!!! They also do a really fun song where the characters come around to anyone celebrating anything special and "dance" around while a song called celebrate is being sung. All the while everyone is twirling napkins, lots of fun. Great for any age!

Well, this wasn't a kids birthday it was mine, I was turning 33. Anyway, We went to the ice cream social at the restaurant in the land at epcot. The waitress brought out an ice cream, announced to the whole restaurant that it was my birthday and then when mickey, goofy, chip and dale all came over, the whole restauant sang happy birthday! It was really fun and what kid doesnt like a huge ice cream treat!! :wave2:

I don't think they do the ice cream social anymore.

I have a boy and a girl turning 5 while we are at WDW. I am planning dinner at Chef Mickey on their special day!

My sone celebrated two b-days there and he loved them. They made a big deal out of it for him. we will be doing it again this Summer for him.

I agree with Chef Mickey, we had a great time there and they even gave our kids a special birthday placemat and a certificate that it was there bday. They also got a Mickey cupcake with candle. Characters will not deliver it at any of the meals we had. Be sure to have the CM make a note on reservation that it is a birthday and remind hostess when checking in.

Another great freebie, before you enter the turnstiles of the 4 parks look for guest relations and ask them for a Birthday button. Each park has a different one and it get a lot of extra attention for the kids. It also makes a great keepsake. In MK, have the barber shop singers sing Happy Birthday.

If staying on property, call your hotel about a week before arrival and let them know your son is celebrating his birthday. We stayed at Pop Century and they brought a signed card from Mickey for husband's and Aurora for daughter's birthday with ballons to the room for free. They will not deliver on arrival or departure day but will any other time.

For something REALLY special, contact Gifts of a lifetime. (www.giftsofalifetime.com). I arranged a princess treasure hunt in the MK for D5 birthday in Feb and they took care of everything. It took about 1.5 hours and she loved it. It cost about $300 but was worth every penny since her and her 8 year old brother still belive that the princesses hid the clues in the park and bought them special presents. They do events in all the parks and can be specialized for your son's interest.

good luck
