Special AKV Offer??

Was there previously the $8 per point off of a 50 point add-on?
I thought so, but when we recently added on 50 points (in two 25 point contracts) at AKV, and received the paper work it was the full $104 pp.

I should put a call into my guide, because that's $400 bucks.

Also, this add-on incentive (I too received the email)....is there a comparable incentive to new buyers? Please let me know, I have a cousin who is interested.

TIA

So would the add on be done as a totally separate contract? We are contemplating it, but only if it's separate. Don't want to be stuck w/a huge point contract. Does anyone know?
thanks:goodvibes

just got off the phone with our guide! From my understanding, its a seperate contract and we are totally going for it! I am super excited!

My hubby is away on business but I just forwarded him the email and a link to this thread. Have a feeling he'll say no as he would prefer a resale at BCV, but I want him to at least take a look.

We had absolutely no intentions of adding on, but when I saw the email... I showed it to DH and he said to go ahead and put a call in to our guide. I'm hoping she calls back today.

I don't know if we'll actually add on, but it's very tempting.

I also understood (and please correct me if needed) that Disney only sells the same UY to existing members for add-ons. I currently have 200 Feb UY points at AKV. If I add on 100 more with this promotion, will I have a Feb UY for those points too, or just whatever happens to come up?

it would have to be the same UY month if you add-on. if they don't have the same UY month, you would have to waitlist.

an add-on can be sold or willed (or whatever) separately from the master contract. (edited to add: you could also later sell the master contract and just keep the 100 pt add-on, if you wanted.)

an add-on for the same resort will function as a larger contract (you can combine master contract pts with the add-on's pts to book a single night without using a transfer, but it will be a slightly different number (membernumber.00 and membernumber.01 or something like that.)

I got this email also, and would love to do this add-on. When would the developers points expire, and could you add it to points you already have- or do you have to book it completely seperate? Sorry so many questions, we have never added on or had developers points. TIA:goodvibes

Oh man, this is so tempting! We received the email last night too. A fantastic deal, but we don't need the points right now...what to do....I would so love to add the AKV logo to my signature...lol

It sure is a tempting offer. My wife isn't crazy about CR despite being on the monorail and within walking distance of MK, so I don't think a BLT add-on is in our future.

We will be staying at AKV for the first time next week before our DCL cruise. Think I'll wait to see how much we like AKV and whether they offer anything extra to sweeten the deal at the DVC presentation onboard the Wonder.

Thanks for clarifying. That's what I was hoping. This deal may be too good to pass up.:thumbsup2

popcorn:: Okay, this is fun! Now I see that you can also get $500 Disney Visa Rewards points when you put your downpayment on a Disney Visa for 160+ points. So if you did a 200 point add on:

:teacher:
  • $96 per point = $19,200
  • 200 dev pts for SSR-use within a year
  • $1000 gift card
  • $500 Disney Visa Rewards points

Love the incentives, but that $19,000. . . :scared1: hmmmm :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have to stay away from these DVC forums. . .it's just plain trouble pirate:

  But, once it was done, there wouldn't be any money left over for divorce court, right???

Well, now that you put it that way!!:scared1: :scared1: LOL

Several people have verified with their guides that they won't let you combine the giftcard/reward point offers...it's either/or. (Darn it anyway!)

Darn.

Okay, so that takes us back to 100 points:

:teacher:
  • 100 points @ $96 = $9600
  • 100 dev pts for SSR, use in a year
  • $500 gift card

Well, now it's just a Bargain, isn't it?? ;) :flower3:

Are they offering '08 points with this offer? I figured they would probably not have any points for this year because it would be the new building.

This doesn't make the deal quite as sweet for me. If I could get 100 points for '08 and the 100 developer points then that would be an awesome offer.

Going to have to pass on this one. 2 add ons in the last year already! We will be at 285 pts for a while.

Does anyone think that this is an example of DVC feeling the pinch from the slow economy?

Looks like it:

Current Member Add-On Purchase

Animal Kingdom Villas***

$104 base price less $8 promotional discount; 50-99 point purchase

$104 base price less $8 promotional discount; 100-point minimum purchase; first points available in 2008 Use Year but cannot be used until after 5/1/09 due to Kidani Village construction; matching set of Developer's Points to be used at Saratoga Springs or for Interval International exchange and expire 12 months after issue

I know, I'm just a trouble maker

Soo tempting. 100 points would be enough for a 2 night stay in a 1BR weeknights during premier season for those hard to get CL rooms. $500 gift card could pay for an AP and DDE card. Maybe this time next year.......

I read that on the member site, but I still felt confused. So if you have October or December UY you would get 100 '08 points to bank into next year? I just don't understand how they could sell '08 points when the rooms are not built yet.

Oh well, my DH will kill me if I bring up an add-on.
