We survived the first camping trip with the little man. One of DH's coworkers bought 70 acres in Colorado, but "near" Laramie, WY. Absolutely beautiful, but windier than lord knows what and colder than the artic (so, I am exaggerating a bit!) We have a little pop up, but it was still cold, and that little trailer was rocking in the wind....which scares the heck outta Orion, our big "tough" 85 lb shepard! The dogs were able to run free, which they loved, but scared us a bit when they took off to a ridge, as that seems to be the home of a mountain lion. Thankfully, they are fairly obedient and came back pretty quickly. Copper, our 15 lb corgie-mutt something-mutt followed Tim on an ATV trek, kept up and loved every second of it!
Merrick spent most of the time inside the camper with me because of the wind, but when it let up, he hung out outside. He took a somersault off one of the beds, which scared the heck out of me. I know accidents happen, but it is so scary when they do and I feel like crap. He gets more and more mobile every day and I need to realize that alot can happen in 15 seconds....he cried for about 30 seconds, then started laughing at Tim. Seemed to scare him more than anything, and yet another parenting lesson learned.
Hope you all have a great Memorial Day. I am remembering my cousin, US Army Master Sergeant Joseph John Andres, killed in Iraq, 24 Dec 2005.
