Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued

I think the cruise lines might just have to start considering that airlines are hitting their passengers with additional baggage fees the amount of baggage brought will lessen.

I enjoyed getting dressed up but, can't justify the cost of an extra formal bag for one night.

Up early for race day here in Boulder.

Have a good day. DH is in training for a 5k race at the moment and I am not too keen on the idea. He has had trouble with his knees since his early twenties, but he is adamant that he can do this.

Happy Memorial Day everyone.
The official start of summer. Woo Hoo.

Still haven't checked back thru the thread yet.
But later maybe......rain's a coming.

So, after I finish my Caribbean Kreme Krispy Kreme and my coffee, it's out to the yard.
Mowing, weeding, ect.

As I have been told, he should take it slow. Use good shoes. And listen to good music as he goes.:goodvibes

Have a good day kiddies. Later.

We survived the first camping trip with the little man. One of DH's coworkers bought 70 acres in Colorado, but "near" Laramie, WY. Absolutely beautiful, but windier than lord knows what and colder than the artic (so, I am exaggerating a bit!) We have a little pop up, but it was still cold, and that little trailer was rocking in the wind....which scares the heck outta Orion, our big "tough" 85 lb shepard! The dogs were able to run free, which they loved, but scared us a bit when they took off to a ridge, as that seems to be the home of a mountain lion. Thankfully, they are fairly obedient and came back pretty quickly. Copper, our 15 lb corgie-mutt something-mutt followed Tim on an ATV trek, kept up and loved every second of it!

Merrick spent most of the time inside the camper with me because of the wind, but when it let up, he hung out outside. He took a somersault off one of the beds, which scared the heck out of me. I know accidents happen, but it is so scary when they do and I feel like crap. He gets more and more mobile every day and I need to realize that alot can happen in 15 seconds....he cried for about 30 seconds, then started laughing at Tim. Seemed to scare him more than anything, and yet another parenting lesson learned.

Hope you all have a great Memorial Day. I am remembering my cousin, US Army Master Sergeant Joseph John Andres, killed in Iraq, 24 Dec 2005.

Sounds fantastic!! Even with the tumble! We have a pop up too but a big one! I think we are going to sell it - just not using it much now that kids are older. Too bad too, it is loaded!

I would love that area. Hope to travel out there some time next year to graduate with my class. I attend college on line and am working toward my BSBA thru a school in Denver.

My deepest gratitude to your cousin.

Jill, just sounds like a lot of fun!:thumbsup2

Everyone else for get about the formal attire!!!
Go tropical!
no suit for this cat. will bring 2 pairs of dress pants, docker like, and rotate every other night as I have done in the past...

they will still feed me!!

Mom and I are also forgoing formal night in lieu of Tropical attire or just plain cruise casual attire. Although we are driving down, I can't justify formal wear taking up value suitcase space when it will only be worn one night...and like Peter said...it's not like they won't serve you if you aren't in "formal" wear.

Peter....or should I call you Pierre now???? KEWL info....maybe in your reading you'll find out that we're actually somehow related....you know like WAY WAY WAY back....you just never know...stranger things have happened.

BTW....DCL must love us...we got our second 5 night cruise package in the mail...not sure what's different in this one than the one I got 2 weeks ago...maybe I should check...maybe we got upgraded or something!!!!

Happy Memorial Day to my American friends.....3 years ago today we visiting DL for the very first time.....

No Shirt no shoes no Problem... LOL

more later hot tub is ready, had a good race.

Well what can I say but Welcome to Wyoming. ya gotta be tough to live in WY. :lmao:

Yes let us not forget the real meaning of memorial day.

Bob, I am doing the RM thing KEWL!!!!

Formal night was the one thing I was worried about. There is no way I will get DH to pack a suit when he is going on vacation never mind getting him to wear a tux! I quite like to dress up and will bring a few dressier things, but his limit is slacks, a dress shirt, a nice vest and a tie. We had discussed that I would go to formal night and he just does room service or Topsiders that night, but it looks like he just might fit in.

dolphingirl47

I don't think anyone has ever been "turned away" because they were not dressed in a "formal" manner.

I usually wear a suit and tie, but it seems I've seen guys in nice polo's and slacks.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Good Evening All.
After turning a wary eye to the sky all day, it's a gorgeous evening.
Here on the deck enjoying the weather and the birds.

Georgie and Elaine here are a couple of pics of the trees this year.
The first one is of the the flowering crab. Don't remember what the purple one is.
yard.jpg

The lilac is not as nice as Elaine's bush. Smelled good.
lilac.jpg

Just did not bloom well this year. Strange as everything else in the yard did.

The peonies are late this year.

...Bob, I am doing the RM thing KEWL!!!!

Scott. Yep. Been good. Copied a few good cuts. Some rare ones. Missed some late last night though.

The formal night will not be so for us this year.
We like doing the "dress-up", but will pass. Maybe a jacket for me. Tie?
Pirate Night.pirate:
Tropical night the other 3 nights fer sure.
The grass skirt will make an appearance. Atleast once.:goodvibes
BOB
You may want to pick the Tortola cruise in my siggy...
the first one is alot of EC's
lol
suppose if you use points it does not matter much,,,,
Peter, we decided on the first one, so we could be home with F&F over Memorial Day. June, July and August would be hot hot hot.
Probably will do cash. Saving points for 2010 & 11.

...We'll be in Denver stalking WWE wrestlers like John Cena. My 11 year old boy is obsessed.

Monday night RAW is at the Pepsi Center tomorrow.
.....
KEWL kid. Brings back memories of my childhood.
Dick the Bruiser, The Sheik, Bobby Heenan, the Valliants, ect.

Of course, I am still enjoying my childhood. Growing Older, but not Up.:goodvibes

OMG, Jimmy just said a bad word.

Okay....although we aren't completely done decorating our "renovated" rooms...I just can't wait any longer to show you guys the results....

Here is my new DCL cruise bedroom.....note the bedspread and drapes....and no Bob I didn't steal them!!!!! I still have my cruise lithos and my Panama Canal Cruise map to go on the walls

My Mom and I were thinking of you guys, as well as Sharon and her family (twinmom108) when we heard about the tornados.....glad to hear that you guys are okay.

Elaine & Margaret, thanks for thinking of us! We live about 120 miles south of Windsor, CO where the tornado did the most damage so we're fine.

We went camping this weekend and had the most wonderful time with our 3 teen sons. We let them ask Allen & me any questions they wanted too with no topic off limits.:scared1: Could have been scary but it wasn't and even our 14 yo said he had a new respect for his dad.:thumbsup2

We have a big camping trip coming up in June. We're going to Yellowstone for 2 weeks.:cool1: Maybe we'll even surprise Scott & Lynn with an unannouced visit as we drive through Cheyenne.;) :rotfl:

Allen and I are with you on the formal wear debate. We won't be packing any formal wear either. Not sure whether Allen will wear a shirt and tie or just a polo shirt for the formal wear night. What do you all think, would a polo shirt be too tacky for that night?

Elaine, Love the pics of your lilacs. They're beautiful. I adore purple flowers because that's my favorite color. Unfortunately I'm not a very good gardener because I end up killing most of my plants and flowers. :( I do seem to do much better with silk plants. LOL

Sharon

Elaine! GREAT pictures!!! Great job with your house re-do! Love the Cruise Room, and Capt. Mickey!

:thumbsup2

Sharon - You will be welcome here - at this point, we do not have anything on the calendar for June, except a visit from my college roommate the first week of June. We do have a 30 amp hook-up by our garage for a camper, but, sorry, no dump site! If you come over a weekend, you may be drafted to work on the basement:lmao:

Elaine, great job on the rooms! And I love your lilacs. At the hotel we were staying in Boulder, there were several lilac bushes just outside the back door, every time we left the hotel, we were greeted with a great odor when we opened that door! It makes me want to plant a lilac bush here even more.

Hello Ray. I have a 11 1/2 year old Daughter. She will be 12 in October.... Not sure if you are still trying to find someone she can hang around... You can let me know... If they would like to talk through e-mail I can give you the e-mail address.. Just let me know...

Michelle

Well with the final payment due date comming up we finally told the kids, well actually we asked if they wanted to go. There's always the chance they don't want to go I suppose. I'd have to arrange for a 5 day sleep over at a friend's house for them while DW and I went though.:rotfl:

We've got a 12yo daughter and an 8yo daughter, so anyone who is interested in letting the kids "connect" a bit before the cruise just PM me and we'll work it out.

We were able to do this last year for my 8yo and the two girls had a great time on the cruise "already knowing someone."

For those of you who have replied to my earlier post about this, you can either pm me, or I'll catch up with you soon. It's been kinda crazy around here for the last few months, sorry.

Ray
