Gotta read, gotta figure out whats all going on for the 5 night cruise of craziness! Hope all is well with all!

Bad tornados hit about 10 miles from us today....freaky, bad weather with lots of damage. Lets hope for no hurricanes for this cruise, although it could be an interesting adventure (just kidding...did it once, not so fun!)

Yep a little crazy last night, had funel clouds all around us. All is good here.

Sure glad to hear all is well with you guys. :)

Georgie and Leslie.....these pictures are for you.....here are our lilacs in full bloom....

we just got back from the garden centre....we always plant geraniums in our front garden but instead of the usual red that we always get....we decided on this colour....hopefully we'll have nice weather this weekend so we can plant....

Beautiful pictures! I really like the geranium color you chose - we are hoping for good weather to plant this weekend also.

Have you ever been to the Lilac Festival in Rochester, NY? It was last weekend - hundreds and hundreds of beautiful lilac trees in full bloom in Highland Park. You and your Mom would really enjoy it. Looking forward to seeing you both on the cruise.

No...we have never been to Rochester NY's lilac festival...we have however been to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington Ontario's lilac festival....apparently the gardens in Highland Park and our RBG's gardens are in competition to see who has the largest lilac collection....

I just wish the lilac would last longer....the blooms are soooo beautiful and so fragrant.....our backyard smells so great right now!!!!!

Yes...we are looking forward to you guys on the cruise as well....only 100 more days!!!!!

I was thinking of you last night while watching news of the damage in Winsor, I did not know how far away that was from you. We had to go to our basement twice last night because of spotted funnel clouds, one was less than a mile from our house, but that one apparently did not cause any damage. I am glad we have the camper TV set up in front of our treadmill, it is not connected to satellite, but we can get the local stations on it - kind of - so we watched the local station while camping in the basement. It was quite a thunderstorm, after the tornado warnings were called off, we sat out on our front porch for a while and just watched the lightning. I am glad to here that you did not suffer any damage. Are you coming out for the Bolder Boulder (I know you said you were not running, but are you watching?) - we have packed our lime green WISH shirts for the race.

We are just opposite Windsor off i-25, to get home we get off at the Windsor exit and head west and Windsor is just about 12 miles east of us. It was a crazy, tiring day yesterday...I was at work at the jail, which is pretty secure, but DH was at SWAT practice which got cancelled and he ended up on/around i25 with accidents and such...and DS was at daycare, which stressed me out, too. But all was okay on the west side of i25, thankfully. Our American flag and holder got ripped out of the house, though...screws and all, but oddly enough, our patio furniture didn't move an inch:confused3 Some other homes in our neighborhood had shingles ripped out and furniture blown around, but, again, we lucked out!

Nope, we will actually be camping this weekend, so I won't be watching the race, but GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!!!! I always think about running again, but now I still have about 15 lbs of baby on me, and it just shakes when I run...I hate that!!! (TMI???) We have to head through WY to get to where we are camping at in CO, so maybe we'll pass each other:)

Well yesterday I got sent home early, weather was at it again - hail heavy rain, tornadoes etc etc, Get home, ground covered couple inches of hail, dogs inside, no Lynn, I call for her, no answer, next I start looking, find the basement leaking and Lynn in the window wells bailing the 18 inches of standing water. We have some of it come inside, not too bad still drying out the carpet in the one finished room, no damage yeah!!!! just wet.

I guess I could seal those window wells we could put fish in there. LOL

The problem was east wind and greater than expected rain, and the slope of the land around the house on the east side. Down spouts from the gutters were blocked with hail so water could not be diverted.

We got things kinda dried up and off to lowes to get some pipe to extend the downspouts to a good drainage slope. We will also be building some decorating berms to divert any over flow in the future.

Oh well off to Boulder later today.

Those Lilacs are great, I wish we could have some soo nice.

Jill and Tim, Have fun camping and enjoying the weekend. I hope the weather is better for ya.

Glad to hear you all are ok. This is the one thing I really don't like about spring! Tornados and severe storms. I've been in 2 of them and way to close to several others!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend! Good luck to everyone heading to Boulder!

Well with the final payment due date comming up we finally told the kids, well actually we asked if they wanted to go. There's always the chance they don't want to go I suppose. I'd have to arrange for a 5 day sleep over at a friend's house for them while DW and I went though.:rotfl:

We've got a 12yo daughter and an 8yo daughter, so anyone who is interested in letting the kids "connect" a bit before the cruise just PM me and we'll work it out.

We were able to do this last year for my 8yo and the two girls had a great time on the cruise "already knowing someone."

For those of you who have replied to my earlier post about this, you can either pm me, or I'll catch up with you soon. It's been kinda crazy around here for the last few months, sorry.

OMG Elaine they are beautiful!!!! I miss lilacs soooooo much. Have to settle for the bath & body works air fresheners.... :lmao: We found two bushes last year that were supposed to be okay for FL... but they didn't make it. Too much heat I guess. :sad1: The pics are wonderful... I like the geraniums too.. very pretty color. :wizard:

Glad to hear everyone is safe out west from that terrible weather!!

WOW Tornados! :scared1: So glad everyone is safe.

Elaine! BEAUTIFUL pictures of the lilacs. And, you have so many colors! We just love them. If I can dig up some pictures, I will post them. We got to go to the lilac festival on Mackinac Island several years ago. It was just beautiful. THANKS for taking time to share your pictures. I love your geraniums too.:goodvibes

Hey grass skirters... there is a TSV on QVC... Margaritaville! Thought of you Bob!:thumbsup2

Peter... great lists

Welcome everyone.

We got a great flight with Southwest.

Hi Two Foxes, I didn't realize there are some locals on here, we're in Longmont, CO! What day are you leaving for the cruise? We're on the 8AM I think Frontier flight on August 29th.

Good luck to everyone doing the Bolder Boulder! My Director and many others are doing it and comparing times. He tries to rope me and another pooh sized peer in, but no go!

We'll be in Denver stalking WWE wrestlers like John Cena. My 11 year old boy is obsessed.

Monday night RAW is at the Pepsi Center tomorrow.

I am sorry for those experiencing the bad weather. We are very close to the mountains so we usually avoid it. A couple coworkers were affected though and the company is donating money to help out.

Yesterday the pools opened! :cool1: Wewent swimming at a neighborhood rec pool with slides and a beach, it was awesome!:cheer2:

Hey everyone,

It's beginning to get close enough to make actual plans!

Just booked the night before the cruise at the Radisson and we looked through the cruise packet that came in the mail during the week. One of the pages has info about tux/shoe rentals. Is a tux really necessary for formal night? Can DH just wear dress clothes and a tie? Or is everyone dropping the formal night and going with tropical?

We are not planning to dress up for formal night - Scott may wear a tie, but we are not packing a tux, and I do not plan to pack a formal dress and shoes!
Lynn

Nothing more than jacket and tie for DH and I have one of those dresses that is knit and travels well all folded up without getting wrinkled. That is as good as it gets for us!! Especially with the bag restrictions with the airlines.

Good Evening All.
Haven't checked the boards for about a week.:confused3
Thought I'd check in. Catch up.

What a beautiful weekend here in the heartland.
Had a niece graduate Saturday. Party afterwards.:cool1:
(Cheryl, that was Rachel).

This evening was spent out on the deck in the great weather.
Belle and I have been enjoying White Castles and Margaritas.
O.K., Belle didn't have any margs, but helped with the burgers.
Entertainment has been provided by radio margaritaville.
Concert marathon weekend.
Scott, did ya remember the Sirius on the trek south?

We decided on our next cruise........

Haven't been to Tortola before and we enjoyed St Thomas the last time we were there.
Even with me playing beast of burden.:goodvibes

Pierre

Formal night was the one thing I was worried about. There is no way I will get DH to pack a suit when he is going on vacation never mind getting him to wear a tux! I quite like to dress up and will bring a few dressier things, but his limit is slacks, a dress shirt, a nice vest and a tie. We had discussed that I would go to formal night and he just does room service or Topsiders that night, but it looks like he just might fit in.
