Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued

Have you ever stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. We were wondering which would be the better choice.

We have stayed at CBR and really loved the tropical theming. It is a resort that can be criticized for its size, but the same is also often complained about at POR.

We have never stayed at POR, but we have stayed numerous times at POFQ and we have visited the sister resort of POR. In comparing foodcouts of CBR and POR, I think the actual food offerings are very similar. But I think the atmosphere at CBR with the outdoor market feel and the lights and the steel drum music is really nice and I prefer it over POR.

Not sure if this matters to you, but keep in mind that the main theme pool at CBR will likely be closed at your time of stay. It is undergoing a complete makeover and is scheduled to open in "September." Hard to know what that means for certain, but you know how those dates often get pushed back. I would not expect it to be open before the cruise and I would not count on the main pool being open after the cruise to avoid disappointment.

For the pool reason, I would not choose CBR. However, I have to put a plug in for POFQ - a really wonderful resort. Someone mentioned beignets, but I am pretty certain they are only available at POFQ.

We've stayed in CBR as well as POR and really enjoyed them both. I agree with PA Princess, we also loved the tropical theme at CBR. We seem to choose POR frequently as it offers trundle beds in some of the rooms (which works well for my family of 5). As far as the food goes, we've pretty much experienced the same quality of food across the board at the Disney resorts. The food courts have a nice variety of foods to suit most people. We've never been disappointed.:thumbsup2

Hi Everyone.:wave2:
I saw this on the Community Thread and it sums up my feelings of winter exactly....
IQuit.jpg
Belle and I just got in from our walk.
She would love all that snow. As it is, she runs from snow patch to snow patch.
Normally, she just does a plow with her nose, but sometimes takes a taste or two.
Maybe we will get one more snow before the season ends. That would be KEWL.:thumbsup2

Does that make your trip a Double-Double dip
or a Double Magic Double-Dip?

Actually, we call it a Triple Whipple Dip! (our last name). We'll be at CC three times in a week :woohoo:

And I confirmed it today! My sister, her ex-step daughter in law and grandchildren will be staying at the BCV before the cruise for two nights and heading straight home after. I made my first DVC reservation :woohoo:

The Weather is Here..... wish you were beautiful... (Sorry I couldn't resist... Scott and Bob will get it...LOL)
Actually our weather has been great. :thumbsup2 :sunny: :beach: :lmao:

Nice snowman!! Those look like professional snowman accessories! Rather attractive scarf and hat combo! Your son wins for the best dressed snowman!!!
I see that snow and don't miss it AT ALL!!

Thanks! I picked up the snomwan accessories at our local Kirland's (home decor store). Everything came in a kit. I picked it up a couple of years ago hoping to get to use it one day. So glad we did! My son had a blast!

Evening everyone.

Love the snow pictures - we have only had snow one evning on the east coast of the UK this year so we've got away lightly.:)

The west of the UK is being battered by storms and gales at the moment. I just wish it would warm-up a little. :headache:

Anyway, it's nearly midnight so "Goodnight" from the UK.

David

Triple Whipple Dip, sounds like a drink you would get at the Kwickie Mart:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Here's a little Mr. Whipple trivia

Mr. Whipple was portrayed by Dick Wilson....who grew up in Hamilton Ontario Canada....which is where I work....and also "technically" live since Hamilton and the surrounding cities amalgamated into one "big" city!!!!!!!!

Here is what I put on the list I have been keeping, it has your list linked to it as you add to your list, you can just edit that post.

Then it will always be current.

Where Are We and When List - Nezy / Noreen - See it Here

It's bad enough that I planned a cruise 11 months in advance. I don't think I will have the pre-stay planned until June!:scared1:

Evening all !

Jost dropping by and in doing so, dragging the thread back from the second page.:thumbsup2

Hey Scott... GO FLY A KITE!!! :lmao:

Ha... I changed the font and color so Bob won't see me coming.... :rotfl:

Finally got the TAXES done! Yipppeeeeeee :dance3: Now I can use the computer for something else.....like gabbing away here.. :lmao: Although I must admit... I've found something almost as addictive... The kids bought me that Wii thingy for my birthday!!! I must admit.. the last video game I played was probably PONG.... :rotfl: but this is fun.. and it makes you get up off your butt and interact. I love the bowling and tennis. Quite a workout.... Also have the Olympic Games but haven't tried that yet. :cheer2:

I did and it was fun. I like Kites.

Isn't there an underwater came for Wii??

Glad you enjoyed your kite. :) Yes, my SIL said there was an underwater game... like you were snorkeling or scuba or something. :confused3 I'll have to look for it.... Right now it's all I can do to keep up with the bowling and tennis. I'm new to all this virtual stuff... :3dglasses

Do you get virtual tennis elbow or actual tennis elbow from playing Wii tennis?

Do you get virtual bends or actual bends from underwater Wii?

Forgive me--it is late and I canno t sleep--David should actually be rising to a new day in England right now!
