I didn't know what an ATV is either but the link was self-explanitory - I don't believe we have UTV in the UK which seems to be a slight relief.

Disneylady, omg, I'm so sorry your son was in such a terrible accident. Thank gosh he's okay! I hope you get your room situation worked out so he's comfortable and can enjoy the cruise.

Just found this out for the EB cruisers so I thought I would share it here too.

I just checked again with DCL about the luggage issue and onboard check in for your airlines. I guess it's basically good news, but things have changed.

It is Disney Cruise Line's policy that they will take two bags per person on the last night of the cruise. With the onboard check in, if the airline only permits one checked bag, you will have to pay for the extra bag before you get off the ship or at the gate, but both of your bags will be transported to the airport and you won't have to get one in the terminal. They said that payment of the fees is up to the airlines and they will have to deal with that. It is their policy to check two bags and they will continue to do that.

She recommended that I bring the email indicating that I am grandfathered in to bringing two bags person just in case, but it shouldn't be a problem. I assume for those airlines that allow you to pay in advance online that there is a way if you pay before you get your boarding passes it will show you are paid, but they didn't know.

I'll know more about the duration of his condition on Monday. We meet then with orthopaedic surgery and then the next week, we meet with the plastic surgery team that worked to repair the nerves in his hand.

He and I have been talking about it this morning and he wants to keep the room we have because his friends are only a few doors down. I've been wracking my brain trying to work out the stateroom stuff in my head. If he sleeps on the bottom bunk with his feet towards the balcony, then we may be able to raise the table and use it as a prop with the help of pillows. With a cast on the opposite arm as well, it just makes for an uncomfortable night's sleep.

I'm starting to lean more towards keeping him near his friends. They seem to have been the best medicine for him thus far.

I saw someone's cruise ticker last night that said we're down to 36 days. I now feel in a panic. I booked this thing two years ago. It amazes me how fast they sneak up on us.

I'm glad he is alive and will eventually heal. The skin grafts and pin removals will be very painful with only 36 days to go. It's a tough choice as to whether or not you should cancel this trip and schedule another one next year with his friends. He's not going to be able to do too much, and his friends will be constantly on the move.
I wish you some Disney magic for a speedy recovery!

That's it, I'm not letting my DS out of the house for next 5 weeks!

Georgie-Sorry to hear about David's mom. He definately will have to make an extra effort to stay close w/his sister now that both parents have passed. Since my MIL died 2 1/2 yrs ago it has been difficult for us to stay close w/my FIL as has gotten engaged and will be married in Oct. Sometimes I think it is painful for HIM to be around all of us bewcause we all remind him so much of my MIL. Death in families can yield some strange happenings!

My son was in a horrible UTV accident on Sunday. We're booked for the 9/1 and are worried about how to make my son as comfortable as possible on this trip. Both arms are in casts. Seven broken bones total, shattered hand, etc. Lucky to be with us.

How horrible for your son. Hopefully you work something out for you all that will make all of you comfortable on the cruise.

Ok, I need some help from the vets here, or people more informed about this darn cruise than I am.

Everything is just becoming a "surprise" to me it seems. From what ship I was on, to now being pointed out that the Toy Story Musical my dd is so looking forward to WON'T BE ON THIS SHIP. Ugh. I'm in tears.
So before I get even more depressed about this great vacation that is breaking me, and slowly becoming a disappointment, can anyone help me find specific details on what to expect as far as shows and everything go on this ship? I am apparently, clueless.

I wish I had booked a 4 day Wonder cruise. I WOULD have done that had I realized all this when I booked the 5 day.

Awww, you will have a great time! i know the feeling of disappointment when you think you're doing one thing and turns out you're not, but really, you'll have a blast.

I think that will be sorta tough since there haven't been any other 5 night cruises, to my knowledge, so I don't think there is anything to go off of in terms of Navigators. I'm sure your daughter will still like a lot of the shows. How old is she? My daughter is 4yo and loved the Disney Dreams show, which I am guessing will be performed on this cruise.

Also, where in LA are you from? My husband's family is from Metairie and his brother, sister, her kids, and their cousin will coming on the cruise too. Her kids will be 7 and 5yo.
