Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued - Part 3

It's a very sad day in our house...my Mom's little red 1994 Geo Metro died....she was pulling into the grocery store parking lot and heard a huge clunk and thought the engine fell out because the car died....thankfully she was safely in the parking lot and not on the roadway when it died....we had it towed to the repair shop - we thought maybe it was something that could be repaired but the repair shop said that the frame was rusted out and some other stuff that I didn't understand....they said it was unrepairable....we are going back tomorrow to clean the car out....so tomorrow it will be going to car heaven.

needless to say...this is my Mom tonight  she's had the car since 1997 and really loved it.

Elaine, Kewl deal on the Wii, Bummer on hte car clunking out. tiem for something sporty. yep that is what ya need. something sporty..

DITTO Elaine! Sorry about Margaret's car... :sad2: I remember Joe's mom almos went into mourning when her Chevy Nova bit the dust.

Scott! WOW! That's some overtime. :cool1: A new office is always fun! I'm sure the OT will be put to GREAT use!!!

The axe fell for us at work. Thankfully, we still have jobs, but will be taking a hit on our salaries (and possibly our travels to Mouse Beach) I am rolling up my creative sleeves to cut costs. Joe's project will demand OT, but the downside is that he will have to work an extra 5 to 12 hours per week extra BEFORE the OT kicks in. This has been a very hard reality week for us.

Bob, hope you are adjusting back to life on land:thumbsup2. :thumbsup2

Funny you should mention sporty....Mom wants a Pontiac Solstice!!!!!

Cheryl...we'd need a Uhaul trailer behind the Solstice to hold the luggage....that would totally take away from the "look" of the car....we decided that we aren't going to do anything until after our May trip...

Sounds like the little bearded men will be bowling in the Catskills all day.:goodvibes

Gosh, it has taken a whole week for me to get back to normal.(:confused3)
Anyway, the suitcases are cleared out and put up and the souvenirs are thrown in the Mickey Room.
It is not final yet (because I have to change my vacation schedule) but we should be cruising again in October.
Will do a $99 3 day in conjunction with a WDW stay and the wine and cheese thingie.

All in all it was a great trip up until the last day. Sorry we didn't cross paths Georgie, that would have been KEWL. I am finishing up sorting pictures and stuff. If anyone is interested, I can send a link to them when I am done.
I love the kissing pic with Shadia, but I like this one too.

Margaret....sorry about the car problems.:sad1:
I may have to part with my 91 Honda also.
The invitation of Tonga toast and buttertarts all day sounds yummy. I will remember that if I am out that way.

Elaine...how's the WII coming? When I do the WII Fit and step on the balance board, I swear the little guy onscreen says "OH OH".:goodvibes
I love to the snowboard and bowling games.

Scott....Blizzard?? Oh, you must mean Blizzard Beach.:rotfl2:
Good luck with the snow. We are supposed to get some tomorrow and tuesday. Probably no accumulation.
Good news about the new office.:thumbsup2

Hope Bob and Lee and the grandkids are having a good time. We decided MD won't go until he can go in the clubs. ..
Ah the clubs. Yes, most kids want to stay there forever. The grandkids did.
I know at the table next to us, the little girl telling her mom a couple times "see she (the granddaughter) got to go to the club, why couldn't I?" They do make it a lot of fun.

Peter....best of luck with the new job. The market is pretty tight here.
I did think of you when I got a kewl toy on the cruise.
Not a good pic, but it is a light up Tink for my waterglass.

I also got one of these babies for my scrapbook...

The only way the cruise could have been better if all of you would have been there.

Have a great day.

Just a bit of snow in the drive, three hours to clean out.

Hey Bob when in Oct will ya be on your cruise, we will be at WDW 10/24 - 10/31 for the TOT race.

Good Morning Cruisers! As Scott said, we had quite an adventure yesterday - no power from mid morning until 8:30PM. We spend the day preparing for no power overnight - got the camping stove out of the camper in the barn and set it up in the garage, got out extra blankets for the bed, got out candles, filled up the oil in the oil lamps, had the matches out to light candles and oil lamps, found all the flashlights and replaced batteries in those that needed it.

We heated up hot water for hot chocolate on our camp stove, then cooked some soup for dinner on it. We had our books out to read with good flashlights so that we could see. Scott has a crank radio, so we even had tunes! When the power went back on, we ran to flush the toilets and fill up a large water bottle - just in case it went off again. It was an interesting day.

Spent the morning clearing the driveway, and the basement window wells, that had a 4 foot drift over them - I cleared off that snow so that it would not melt into the wells and flood our basement!

Have a great day everyone!

I love to the snowboard and bowling games.

Finally got a chance to hook up the Wii this morning....of course it had to be set up in the Mickey room on the Mickey TV since you need "space" to play.

Created Mii's for Mom and I....loved that you could make the Mii bigger than a size 2!!!!!! Tried out the bowling since Leslie told me that we are having a Wii bowling tournament in May....I didn't too bad considering this is only the third time I've Wii'd....then I decided to see what my Wii Fit Age was....I'm embarrassed to say it is a lot older than I am...I'm hoping to see that number go down.

Once I get Wii Sports all figured out I will attempt to hook up my Wii Fit.

So...now if I disappear from the boards for a while...you'll know I'm off "Wii" ing.

Might have to practice up for the Wii Bowling tournament.

Elaine,

Friends brought their Wii to our New Year's Eve party. We had a blast! I think we laughed the hardest as we made our Mii's. We don't have one yet but I think we have to get one!

If you have Mario Cart, you can race other people using the Interent. We could have a international road race of lanyard people! :rotfl2:

Janis...it was fun creating our Mii's.....then I had to figure out how to save them to my remote so I could "take" them to Leslie's!!!!!
