Special 9/1/08 Cruise Continued - Part 3

Happy Humpday.
Just thought I'd drop by.

We finally decided on our next cruise.
After waffling between 2008 Tortola and 2009 Baltic,
we settled for cruising with the grandkids on the Magic, March 21, 2008.
That will be a 7 night Western.
But here's the kicker......we will get a voucher onboard for a 3 night cruise for $99.
This cruise will need to sail between August 17 to December 17.
So, two cruises next year.:cool1: (maybe)
Probably won't cruise after that until 2011 when the new ship sails.

We miss everyone madly!!!
Yeah, us too Georgie.
While this fall has been busy and quite eventful, the 5 Night was a cruise to remember for being with our cruise friends.

Sadly, two of my heroes are no longer with us.
"Captain Tony" Tarracino, Key West legend and un-official mayor, passed away on Halloween last week. He was 92.

And Opus T. Penguin quietly faded away into the book "Goodnight Moon" in his last strip on sunday.

He will be missed.

Have a great week.

I think the price are going to drop. I hope..

Bob, I did hear the news of Capt Tony passing on RM, Sad day :

I went down to Captain Tony's a few times to get out of the heat, .... Our lives change like the weather/But a legend never dies, there's still so much to be done .......

When we open the AC here in WY I will raise a glass to him.

Bob-I agree with Peter, you need to do the 3 day Wonder (10th anniversary cruise), I was thinking that it would not work by your dates, but by Peters dates it would work! It would be great to see you on that cruise!

Cold and windy today here in Cheyenne! Temp is 29 degrees, wind chill index is 2 below 0, wind blowing 38 to 45 mph, gusting to 66 mph!!! Do not think I will get out for a walk today! The dogs will not even go outside! Someone this morning asked the weatherman to declare a "small dog advisory":lmao:

Have a great day everyone!

We booked that 3 day cruise when we were on the 5 night! Now we're wondering if we should try to switch that one to one in March and then get the 3 day for 99 dollars each! :confused3

Good Morning cruisers!

Georgie, I agree with Peter - go for it!!!

Still windy and cold, but neither as extreme as yesterday, wind down to 25 mph, temp up to 35 degrees. Never even left house yesterday, but did get some of my projects in the basement done. Today is packing up for weekend trip (it is amazing how much time it takes to put together a weekend trip!), cleaning the house, and maybe getting in a short dog walk.

Have a great day everyone!

Where is Bob!

Anyone want to rake leaves, I am sure Jenn will let ya...:hippie:

Good Morning All,
just checking in.
Cold and windy here too. No snow though.
Will be a good hot chocolate and cookies day.
And football of course.

Gas is $1.90 here. Or the Canadian equivalent 0.51/litre.:thumbsup2

Well Lynn, that is an idea to ponder over.
We were thinking more along the lines of October.
That way we could do the Food & Wine thingie also.

Georgie, we would love to have you and Joe on that cruise.
So far, that thread has been real quiet. No familiar faces.

Well, time to hit the doggie trail. Then some stops at the stores.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

:santa: Only 47 days until Christmas.

Oh yeah, I was "booed" by Janis, but I haven't been gobbled by anyone yet.:confused3

Bob....glad to see that the gas prices are coming down...much better than the $4.50/gallon I paid driving home from WDW in September. The price of gas here is currently $0.84/litre...but it changes almost daily....much better than the $1.37/Litre we were paying during the summer months.

The leaves are really starting now for us....we had record breaking temperatures this past week...well record breaking for here in Southern Ontario....it was in the high 60's...I almost considered getting out the capri's again....sadly the temperature only lasted a few days and now we are back down to the low 40's and the winds have picked up....Mom was out using her new leaf blower/vacuum on Thursday and had the lawn looking great....now it's completely covered with leaves from our neighbour's tree.

Peter & Jenn....want me to send Mom with her new leaf blower/vacuum to help you out????

I found a KEWL thread on the community board....for those that wonder what the Cinderella Dream Suite looks like and weren't able to do the DVC tour before the cruise...here's a link to some great pictures of the Suite...

Corey & Julie from the DIS Unplugged podcast got a tour a while back & their photos are posted here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/photos/cinderella-castle-suite/

I hope Annette Va don't mind I posted the link on our thread.

Hi Everyone! I must send a picture of our leaves to everyone! I love just walking through them and hearing them swish!

No changes on the cruise front yet. We're trying to get all Christmas chopping completed. We have bags galore in our family room filled to overflowing. Almost done! But I always continue to find more things. :goodvibes

Scott and Lynn, hope your weekend trip was a good one!

I cooked at home this weekend!:thumbsup2 That was a switch that I can keep up with. :rotfl2: I made Paula's Lemon Blossoms. YUMMY! Cute little sugar glazed lemon muffins. They're dangerous. You can't stop at eating just one!

Great pictures of the Cinderella Suite Elaine. We went, but... my camera died just after I took the first picture. Too funny.

Good week to everyone!

Trip has been nice, no internet in the little family town in MO, LOL, so hitting the net with the aircard as Lynn drives we are outside of Lincoln, A good trip and ate way too much, that is what others are for..... Bumpy road......

In CHeyenne, no worry about leafs the wind blows then to nebraska......

Elaine, thanks for the link to the Cinderella photos; I always wanted to see that but never was able to go.

Scott, how did you like the new Toy Story ride? We're going to check it out in Feb. Were the lines crazy?

Peter, hope you're feeling better and the surgery goes well.

We are really kicking ourselves. On the 5-day we thought we wouldn't be cruising again until the new ships were out. Oh, no, we talked ourselves into the DVC member cruise next year AND the westbound TA in 2010. I still can't believe it. I have to say we never traveled so much before DVC. (And I LOVE it!)

Elaine, thanks for the link to the Cinderella photos; I always wanted to see that but never was able to go.

you're welcome....the pictures a little misleading...the suite is not really that big....only 3 rooms....the bedroom, sitting room and bathroom.

Scott, how did you like the new Toy Story ride? We're going to check it out in Feb. Were the lines crazy?

I know you asked Scott....but we rode Toy Story Mania at the end of August and I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it....it was so much fun...even my 73 year old Mom LOVED it....I can't stress enough to go straight to get a fastpass for the ride....when we were there all the fastpasses were gone by 11:00 am and the stand by line was almost 2 hrs!!!!!

Elaine, thanks for the response. Sounds like we'll be making a dash for the fastpass line on DHS day!

Did you see the Cinderella suite in person? It may be small, but it looks like it's exquisitely done. Wow!

Yes, Joanne we did get to see the Cinderella Suite in person thanks to Linda (seaulater) (hi Linda :wave2: ) who included my Mom and I in her group to tour the Castle Suite during the DVC special viewing on August 31. The Suite is exquisitely done...the colours are very rich and the materials used were very rich and lush....it was amazing to see the Suite and I must say that I think Linda and I took pictures for the full 20 minutes we were in the Suite!!!!!

Do you mean Paula Deen, the woman of my dreams?:cool1:
Man she can cook. Funny too.
Love her restaurant in Savannah.
Ate there once we we stayed at Disney's Hilton Head.:thumbsup2
