NAMES OF NEW SHIPS ANNOUNCED!!!!!

Saw on the main cruise thread that Bob Iger announced the names for the new ships....Disney Dream to launch in 2011 and Disney Fantasy to launch in 2012.....I like Disney Dream...but not really a fan of Disney Fantasy....we had a discussion about new ship names on the cruise and Leslie thought they would be Disney Dreams and Disney Wishes.....I think Disney Wishes is a much better name than Disney Fantasy....

I totally agree. I'm disappointed with Disney Fantasy. It sounds like something that could come out of a Red Light District. If they made Dream singular, instead of Dreams, then they sould have been able to use Wish.

Elaine, didn't someone say Disney couldn't use Wishes because anothe cruiseline already used it???

I keep thinking of the song, "A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes." I think I always thought the next 2 ships would be Dreams and Wishes, that now I'm disappointed with the name Fantasy.

Regardless of the name... get me on one of those 2 new ships!!!

Georgie, I don't think it matters if another cruise ship has the name because I think both Dream and Fantasy are names of Carnival ships....

What is wrong with Fantasy? I kinda like that.
I have also read that they may change that to Fantasia. That would be good too.

As for the duplicate names, I believe that Carnival has a Dream and a Fantasy. These ships will be better for sure.

GOOD NEWS!!! I wrote one more time to the car rental place and they wrote back saying they found my camera!

They mailed it back to me today priority mail!!! I can't wait to get it back! YIPPEE!

I just saw they are opening up the TOT Endurance to include a 5K this year! They had the 6.5K the first year, then skipped it last year. Maybe Joe and I can sign up... will see how work goes.

Disney must still be hurting for business...noticed yesterday on the WDW site that they had a April-May room only special with rooms starting at $68 per night....since our next trip planned was the beginning of May I thought I'd give Disney a call and see if we could switch our reservation...low and behold...we are now staying in a preferred room at POP Century for the same time period...for less money....woo hoo...now more money for souvenirs!!!!!

{edited....just called WDW back...standard rooms were showing up for POP Century...switched from preferred to standard and now we are saving even MORE money!!!!!!!!}

Georgie....so glad they found your camera....it just goes to show that there are some honest companies still out there....

Leslie...wish we could be there with you right now...

Bob....your cruise is getting closer....are you packed yet???? I bet the grandkids are very excited....can't wait to hear all about your trip.

Looks like it's cheaper for us to stay at Pop Century than at Mouse Beach!

Not sure when we'll get back to WDW again. If it's in May will let you know!!!

Weather is supposed to be nice. Not real warm, but better than normal.
Everyone here is looking forward to the cruise next week.

Elaine + Margaret, hope you're both better. Joe and I now have colds and are laying low this weekend. But that's a small price to pay for the fun of the cruise.

It's still winter temps here in NJ! Quite a hard adjustment from the Caribbean teamps!

Bob, no Disney or cruises for us in the near future, but we are going to Key West next month . Since the last time we were there was 15 years ago and only for a few hours while waiting to catch our flight, I was hoping you could make some recommendations for us.

I just got back from taking my pictures to the photo lab to get developed (they'll be ready tomorow) and I thought while I was at the mall I'd stop into the liqour store to compare prices of the Cruzan Rum we got in St. Croix....and now I'm totally depressed....the LCBO in Canada doesn't stock Cruzan Rum now I'm going to have to ration my supply of Black Cherry Cruzan Rum...hey wait....Who wants to go on another cruise to St. Croix???????????????

(BTW....here's how prices of Grey Goose Vodka compare here in Canada...in St. Thomas 4 bottles were $100....here in Canada...$45 CDN per bottle!!!!)

Janis, I'm not sure when it opens. Here is the link to the site. Joe said if we can get down there eh would sign up for the 5K and walk it. I'm glad they brought back a short race. We did the 6.5K the first year and it was our induction into the Endurance Series. Granted... a 5K isn't far, but we found it to be fun. We may ask David to join us too.
