Hi! I think this is the perfect time to introduce myself as I want to be 117 (my lucky number:-) on the list of cruisers---please:-) Forgive me as I post this first msg---I tend to be wordy and ramble and I am not all that adept at computers---so here goes: Me---Susan (40 SIGH:-( and husband Tom (41) are in cat 5 on deck 7---need that verandah---early dining---and we can hardly wait to meet all of you wonderful people! This sounds like FUN! Tom and I were booked on a Greek Isles cruise for our 13th wedding anniv next Oct. but the euro is soooo high and I really don't like to fly these days so I talked him into a Disney cruise! The poor man---I dragged him to WDW too often when we were first dating/engaged/married that he burned out:-( He hasn't been there since 2003 so it is time:-) I looked at 4 night cruises with 2 stops at CC and found this 5 night cruise (for a cheaper price---I guess because it is hurricane season?) and it seems PERFECT! I tried a 3 night as part of the 7 day land sea package with a work friend in February to see if I would like it and to see if I would get seasick and it turned out GREAT! Way too short though. So this will be my 2nd Disney cruise and Tom's first. It snowed here in MD yesterday and we are taking advantage of our unscheduled leave (we are Federal employees---we work at the National Archives) by staying home today (with our 2 Cardigan Welsh Corgi dogs) and decorating the house for Christmas. OK I think that is enough for now;-)

:cool1: Welcome aboard Susan (and Tom too!) Glad to have you here. You will find that this is a fun group and you are going to have a great time. If you have any questions, be sure to ask!

I hear we now have to get off the ship for a bit instead of staying on . . . It's still a lot better than going home, though!

We just got off doing a B2B on the Wonder in October. We were just about the last ones off the ship (9:30 a.m.) and we walked through security and immigration (make sure to take your passport) and then went right back up the escalator back into the DCL terminal, didn't even walk outside. Then about 9:45 a.m., one of the CM's showed up and the counter (down by the concierge check in) and we told her we were back to back cruisers. There were the two of us and one other couple. She said as soon as the computer came up she would get us rechecked in and back on the ship. By 9:55 a.m. we had our new KTTW cards and then she escorted us back on the ship before anyone arrived in the terminal. We were on the ship again by 10:05 a.m. I couldn't believe that there was no one in the atrium to announce our arrival :lmao: :lmao: , so we did our own version and pretended to hold microphones to our mouths and welcomed ourselves onto the ship again.

Then we wandered around for 2 hours and did our very own stateroom tour then got drinks on deck 9 and then went to our stateroom. We made sure our room steward knew that we were staying on the ship and told him all he needed to do was change our towels and make the bed, not to worry about anything else. He told us we could come back to the room anytime and we didn't have to wait until 1:30 p.m. It was nice, because we came back to the room and packed a couple of our suitcases from the cruise before with the stuff we no longer needed and then stuffed the bags under the bed. Then it was noon and we headed to lunch!

It worked out great. My next B2B will be the DVC member cruise on 9/21/08 and we are staying on the Wonder again afterwards so we end up on the ship for a week instead of just 4 nights.

Thanks so much for this recent info, Linda . . . there are so many of us staying on after the 15 night PC that they will have quite a crowd wandering around if they let us on while they are preparing the ship for the 5 night . . . hopefully no one will mind.

:welcome:

Welcome Aboard Julie, Susan and Tom, and any others I may have missed, glad to have ya with us. KEWL!!!

Tracy, why is Bill napping??? He can sleep when he gets home….. (Bob will understand that one, LOL)

Hang in there Peter, and get better.

Hi all, been busy at work, as it seems we are on the road at least a couple of days each week. I hope to retire in 1.5 years, earlier than first planned but this pace is getting to me.

Working on finishing the basement, and making good progress, should have it almost framed in this weekend. We are concentrating our efforts on the bathroom. Bar theme with be of the Adventures Club motif, (gotta have a place to display our clap trap before my Museum opens) bathroom will be OKW style.

We are under a winter storm warning/watch, meaning the roads are really slick and ice covered, travel is no fun, 4-6 “ of snow on the ground…. Typical Wyoming winter stuff, as they are calling for freezing ice on top of it all.

We scored plenty of building supplies so have more than enough to keep us busy inside. The pups do get boarded so will try and get them for a short walk or two, maybe wrestle in the snow.

Since the Tower of Terror race I have had an issue with my hip/groin, getting slowly better, would like it to be faster. Have the WDW ½ marathon in a few weeks. Lynn’s training is going well.

Still need to get the Christmas cards out. Lynn did a great job getting the Christmas packages together and we got those shipped yesterday.

Sad news, someone will have to take over the pre-cruise Wine and Cheese party. We are doing the DL ½ on Sunday before our cruise and taking the red eye to make this cruise. Might do one after.

We might be asking some of our FL friends if we could ship our luggage to them before the cruise. We will see as the planning progresses.

Beautiful picture!

Hi everyone! I have had this cruise booked for a while but wasn't sure until a few days ago that we could do it because although I thought that the girls' school schedules would allow a late return I wasn't sure . . . at any rate, I will be on the 15 night PC eastbound cruise with a few others on this thread (I just saw a post from Paula!) and then will stay on for two more stops at CC and one at Nassau . . . should be heaven.

It will be me and my three daughters, who will be 16, 13, and 11 by the time of this cruise. I will certainly join in on fish extenders and other festivities, although I don't know how much I will post on this thread -- the repo one is rather high maintenance, to say the least!

At any rate, I'm thrilled to finally be able to say that we will be a part of this wonderful and very special cruise . . .

Welcome aboard!

We want to thank you very much for such a warm welcome in such a cold month! I REALLY REALLY REALLY can't wait for September 1, 2008 to get here. The Travel Channel will be showing the Disney Cruise Line at 7:00 pm Eastern Standard Time tonight (that is just a few minutes from now for me) and I hope that Tom can stop watching football long enough to enjoy the show with me:-) Forgive this computer neophyte---I don't know how to use the smilies to make my posts more interesting (yet) and I've never been part of a group before now---but I am willing to learn;-) I do have tons of questions---that can wait for another day and we do want to participate in planned activities---looking forward to the open house/cabin! Thanks!

I am envious. I have about 4X that long. Does that mean the "retirement cruise" is in the summer of '09?

Since the Tower of Terror race I have had an issue with my hip/groin, getting slowly better, would like it to be faster. Have the WDW ½ marathon in a few weeks. Lynn’s training is going well.
Ah, we are getting old, dude.:sad1:

Shoot, was looking forward to that too.

Icy here too. Not much snow, but freezing drizzle and rain the last 3 days.

Despite all of the icy weather it was a busy weekend here.

Saw a great football game yesterday. (Sorry Les). Pats are good, aren't they?!

Happy about getting the Bluetooth thingie working with the new laptop. Now I can upload wallpaper and ringtones to the cellphone and download pictures from it's camera.

Took the grandkids to Lee's employer's christmas party for kids.
Bowling, video games, snacks and Santa. Afterwards we went to Chuck E Cheese. Fun time.

Also found time to go to the nearby Nativity Scene program. They do a great job with nice sets and real animals. Unfortunately it was outside and the performers were out in the elements. :cold:

Finally, we get to the most exciting happening of the weekend......
