That is great news, Cheryl. How wonderful. I am so pleased for you.

My son is not due to return until around July. He just got notice this past month that his troop might have to serve another 6 months. What a bummer.

This is his 3rd time over there. But when he comes home this time, he will have 21-1/2 yrs in and his papers to retire will be processed. I will be so happy when that happens.

When he does retire, he wants to be a private pilot or perhaps work for our police/sheriff force or something in that area - he was thinking of flying for UPS or Fed Ex also. He has so many options to choose from.

Thanks Kay. I am sure your son will return safe and sound as well. I know he will be looking forward to his retirement...very exciting and stressful. Sounds like he has a lot of great options though, which is great. Adam and Stacey both recently reinlisted, so they have a ways to go, but at least one of them, if not both will retire.

Hey Tracy...the heart wine is available on the vineyards website now. I placed myself a little order today...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Then I went over to Cakebread website and made a little wine purchase there also...the 2005 napa chardonnay is fantastic. :thumbsup2

And Jenn..for the next time I see you..I ordered a case of the lemon Sua..lol!

Congratulations! I'm glad to hear he's home. What branch is he in?

My brother just enlisted in the Army last year and is now stationed in Hawaii. His deployment to Iraq is set for October of this year.

I love hearing the homecoming stories.
I think Tracy's gonna have a lot of drop offs...

LOL - - That's what happens when you have a suite!

My son is stationed in Hawaii also. He is a helicopter Pilot/Instructor. I believe his rank is CW4.

The DIL and children are there waiting for him to return. We went over last year and stayed at the Hale Koa for 10 days on Waikiki Beach and had a wonderful time. We explored the whole Island.

WOW...you must be so proud! My brother seems to love the challenge that the Army has given him. He went to college, worked for a while but kept going back to his lifelong ambition of joining. He finally did and doesn't seem to regret it. His wife (they just got married by JOP last month) will be moving to Hawaii this June. I told her she'd be much better off being around the other wives while their unit is deployed. She's going crazy back here!

My cousin is in the Marines and stationed in Hawaii. My cousin's husband is in the Coast Guard and they just changed his location from Hawaii to Virginia. They've moved everywhere!

I wish him all the best...it will be nice for you and your family to have him back in the States!

It was a beautiful night here in Texas last night too. The sky was so clear. We sat outside with the kids and looked at all the stars. The kids had fun pointing out stars. DS1 was fascinated with the crescent moon. It was a nice family moment. It reminded me of those "Country Time" lemonade commercials. . . :goodvibes - Jennifer

We took the twins for a hike right around their first birthday and my son's first clear word came when looking at the full moon - he pointed up and said BALL. lol. it was so cute.

Thanks for the :welcome:! Sorry we are late in responding, this board sure does move fast!! We are looking forward to meeting you guys.

Welcome to the newcomers.

I grew up as a Navy Brat. It can be a very good way of life but it isn't easy. My first marrage was to a Navy man for 14 years so I have seen it both as a child and a parent. Best wishes to all the family's of our military men and women. Without them we could not have all that we have. Lois

Hey Cheryl, all is good in our neck of the woods!! Maisy went to the groomer today for the first time since her operation, my she looks funny! She was so matted that the groomer just shaved her down, its painful to look at! She needs some clothes. I will try to have Pete post a picture, it will give everyone a good laugh!! It was a great day here in Massachusetts, almost 60 degrees. Yet they say it might snow tomorrow night! Just crazy. Hope everyone has a great Friday night!!! ~~ Jenn
