Speaking of Wines....what is your Favorite Brand/Name of wine?

Mostly German wines get my vote... particularly a couple of types of Rieslings.

I always ......I mean always tell people about this wine that is really a ladies wine......and most people say they HATE IT.....but it is really good ......
F*U*K*I plum wine......it is awesome...usually get it from a friend at Christmas time and in Epcot at Japans Pavillion......

Good! Publix sells these wines, so I will try them!;)

Personally, I love to experiment. Right now, I am drinking a Kendall-Jackson Zinfindel, Cabernet blend (one of DH's faves). We have a World Market nearby, so I am always trying new wines. When we go out to eat to a nice restaurant, I will almost always chose what the sommlier/waiter recommends as long as it is within my price range. I LOVE trying new wines.

But, if you are going to experiment, knowing what you like and don't like is important. DH and I love dry, full-bodied red wines. We are not a big fan of sweet wines, but we know they have their place (with dessert). DH is not a big fan of white wines at all, but I keeps whites on hand during the summer because I find them more refreshing than reds.

If you want a good rule of thumb without drinking a lot of wine, think about how you like ice tea. DH and I drink unsweet tea with lemon. Lots of tanins just like dry, full-bodied red wines. The sweeter you like your ice tea, the sweeter you will probably like your wines.

Have fun experimenting!

gewurztraminer......the one from germany, not the French or the US one. We picked some up at Germany in EPCOT last fall and wish we had got more.

i'm not much of a wine drinker...but i do like the kendall jackson chardonnay...that's about the only one i've actually liked!

I usually get the Sutter Home brand of Zinfindal.:p Will try some of these you all have mentioned.;)

Anyone ever try the "2 Buck Chuck" also known as Charles Shaw Wines - they are pretty good!

I really don't drink . . but at Xmas time I like Pinot Grigot but I also really like Arbor Mist . . .its not real wine, more like a wine cooler, but it's really good. I had bottles of Pinot Grigot, and bottles of Arbor Mist at Xmas Eve dinner here and all the bottles of Arbor Mist were gone . . .::yes::

I drink tea with lemon also and I just HATE red wine. I keep trying different ones and cannot get into them. Perhaps I am spoiled on the whites?

I like Beringer, Kendall, most CA Chardonnay's. I guess I like the semi-dry wines.

I've started experimenting with all sorts of wines as of late. In the past I mostly drank whites (and DH drank beer). But I've started buying lots of different reds - shiraz has really caught our interest. Both of us love Heritage Road Shiraz (2002) which is increadibly hard to find.

Can't go wrong with Eco Domani Pinot Grigio, but I haven't found a chardonnay lately that I'd highly recommend.

My increadibly sweet DH bought me a subscription to "Wine Spectator" for Christmas so I could learn a little more about the different types of wines. He's such a sweetie!!!!:love2:

"2 buck Chuck" here in Miami, but, would love to try it.:p

Are those the wines carried in the Trader Joe's stores?

I really like a Chardonnay called Fat BASTAR*D. I know it sounds horrid, but the wine is a great value in your $10 everyday range.

My boyfriend told me about $2 buck chuck, but I have never seen it.

Indaba Merlot and GoatsDoRoam (more of a red table wine), both from South Africa.

Smoking Loon Merlot (CA, owned by Sebastiani, I believe). The cork is hysterical, as is the label picture.

For a cheap wine, I like Papio Merlot (CA), but I call it monkey wine because of the monkeys on the label. For $4.99 a bottle, it's a pretty decent wine.

German wines like Riesling, Liebfraumilch and Zeller Swartz Katze

Yes 2 buck chuck is the Trader Joe's wine!! Agree that you can't go wrong with Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio-my favorite!
