Speaking of Wines....what is your Favorite Brand/Name of wine?

J Lohr Riverstone Chardonnay and the impossible to find in the US (due to moronic provincial laws) Quail's Gate Family Reserve Chardonnay.

Of course my very favorite is Dom Perignon champagne. :)

My one indulgence is Inniskillin Pearl Ice Wine, or their Reisling Ice Wine.

I got hooked at the F & W festival a few years ago.........

Up until tonight, I'd have told you that Francis Coppolla makes awesome red wines. His whites are very lacking. Well tonight I was proven wrong. I bought his 2002 Pinot Noir... thinking that it would go well with our Easter ham. Blech! He makes every red very well EXCEPT the Pinot Noir. My DH liked it, but that's not saying much. He'll drink pretty much whatever I give him. I thought the wine was flat. The rest will go into spaghetti sauce.

I just tried LeapFrogMilch. It was recommended by our wine merchant. It is a blend of riesling and chardonnay. The chardonnay tempers the sweetness of the riesling. It was very good, although distributed in small volumes. In PA... land of high taxes... it was $16.99.

2 wines I love are Pinot Grigio Santa Margherita and Luna di luna

Bonny Doon Muscat Vin Glaciere is one of my favorites.

I used to buy this locally made wine in southern Virginia, that was so good. it was a red apple-spiced, with a hint of cinnamon flavor. Last time I visited I couldn't find it. I think that they stopped making it.:(

LOL. Is that supposed to be a play on leibfraumilch? Don't you just love these German names? Friends brought over a bottle of gewurtztraminer (Finger Lakes region). I didn't think I'd like it (too sweet) but I did! (But it's even more fun to say. ;) )

For casual consumption, I like Bonny Doon's Big House Red and Smoking Loon's Merlot or Cab, although I'll experiment with most any bottle in the $10 or less range.

For special occasions, I really love Treana Red.

I'm not a fan of white wines at all, I only drink reds.

And reading this, I realize it sounds like I drink a lot. LOL I don't. I go through perhaps 2 bottles in a month, a bit more during the holidays.

White - I like the Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio
Red - pricey - Castello da Verrazzano Chianti Classico Riserva or their SuperTuscan (Sassello)

moderately priced reds are the non riserva vintages from Verrazzano.

For everyday consumption (and my non wine drinking friends/family) I like the Yellow Tail - Shiraz (yellow label), or the Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz mix (purple label) as well as some of the Luna di Luna varieties.
