I joined the SP team too (thanks Worfie), also as HockeyKat.

I am on calorie restriction (~1200) combined w/ a ton of gym time. I have lost 25 so far and have about 40 to go. I am trying to get most of my calories from healthy sources... lean meats, veggies, fruits, nonfat dairy.

Kat -- Thanks for the referral! You are my very first, and it made my day! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have, it's only been a few weeks, but I think even my attitude is better!

Yay!! :yay: I am glad that I could help. I really like it so far... I am finding out that I am really not eating enough, actually. I seem to barely make my 1200 most days and that is after realizing (like tonight) that I need to eat another snack. I guess it really does get easier to eat less, or perhaps you figure out how to maximize your calories after a while.

I was doing that too! But I plateaued b/c I think my body went into starvation mode. I've found that I do best between 1200-1400. SP is really great for tracking that.
 

:wave: I just joined sparkpeople and the DIS team. I have done WW in the past and while I lose 30-40 pounds I think lose motivation and gain it all back. :sad2: I think I am going to give this a shot. I love all the tools and hopefully I will be able to make some progress. :)

Day 2 and so far so good.... :)

I think I am going to like the site because it lets me track so many different things. I am a very concrete number kind of person which is why I really enjoyed the WW points program. However, that was really only one number you were keeping track with and I like the breakdown I can see on SP. I like that it has a range for different items (cal, protein, fat, etc.). I also like that it will graph our your progress so it should be easier to find patterns and tweak my diet and/or exercise when necessary.

I really like this! :) I like having things to track to hold me accountable but I don't seem to get as obsessed over just one number like I did on WW points. The first day was hard but since then it has almost been easy. :scared1: I can't believe I just wrote that! ;) I am just focusing on making better choices and trying to only eat when I am hungry. I don't have my official weigh-in until this weekend but I couldn't resist a sneak peek at the scale this morning and I was down.....7 pounds!!! :woohoo: Incredible! Of course I realize most of that is probably water weight but still it is a great way to start. :)

I joined the DIS SP team too. I need to lose about 100 pounds total, but right now I'm working on the first 20! :yay: My first weekly weigh-in is tomorrow morning and I stayed in my calorie range all days except one, and worked out FOUR times! (Beating out my previous record by about... three!)

OK I'm taking the plunge - I just signed up at Sparkspeople - I'm angelmum3 over there - I have to run to get dd to swim lessons! I'll work on figuring it out soon!

Good morning DIS Sparkpeople!

My first weigh-in was Sunday and showed a very respectable 2 pound loss. I know I can't expect that every week but it was a nice start! This week I'm trying to add in more water each day because I really struggle with 8 glasses a day.

I'm a little torn this morning because I forgot to bring my usual South Beach bar for breakfast and I'm stuck eating from the work cafeteria, which is maybe the unhealthiest place in the world. I'm not sure who approved bags of M&Ms as a breakfast item!

I've started just bagging my breakfast cereal (GO Lean crunch) and taking it (higher protein, not south beach) ahead of time. Hope you can find some healthy choices.

I hear you on the water - I'm doing it this week. and I'm going to walk (or run 30 min every day!) That's my goal...

I'm still trying to figure out all the sparkspages!!
