Hey All: I built a new home last year and moved in Summer 2005. I choose the upstairs bathroom to be white and seafoam. The bathtub is sparkling WHITE....or it wasss....????

My DS' wear these BLACK SANDALS like all the time. It leaves the bottoms of their feet black. They take showers and leave these black prints on the floor of the tub.

I use AJAX and allot of "elbow grease" but I can still see it is NOT the SPARKLING white that I want.

ANY IDEAS HOW TO GET MY TUB SPARKLING WHITE???? What does everyone use???

THANK YOU!!! :thanks: :thanks:

Mr Clean Magic Eraser maybe???

Is it fiberglass or porcelain tub?

Mr Clean's magic eraser should win a prize!!!!!

That's what I was going to suggest, it works great on my kids' tub. Don't use Ajax as it could damage the finish.

OP HERE:

The TUB is fiberglass!!! I have the Magic Eraser...I LOVE the Magic Eraser but did not know you could use it on a tub....I have used it mostly on my walls for those occaisonally marks here and there and that ERASER is so MAGICAL!!! :goodvibes

Please let us know how it works out. I have an old bathtub and would love to find out if it works!
Thanks! :thumbsup2

We have really strange water that leaves an orange tinged scum on our bathtub. (no, we don't drink our city water!). NOTHING would clean it - until my daycare suggested SPARKLE from a commercial cleaner. I just walked in and they sell it to the public. It is fairly inexpensive - like $7 for a spray bottle.

It is magical - I swear!

:thumbsup2 I thought so too when she first told me!

I don't know if they would work or are safe on fiberglass, but my DH uses Polident denture tablets to keep our toilets clean. And they work!

Sprinkle a little bit of baking soda on the tub then put pure lemon juice over it. Let it sit a bit them rub and rinse. The baking soda is a natural abrasive and should be fine for your tub and the acid from the lemon should help pick up anything stained on the tub. The lemon smells really nice.

Good luck

When you get the tub sparkling clean wax it with car wax, It will pervent a built up of the black stuff. Make sure you put down a tub mat because it will get very slippery.

Bar Keepers Friend!

It comes in a containter like Ajax or Comet.

This stuff is the best. It takes scum off of anything.

Make sure you make the kids clean it till it's spekling white.

This will serve 2 purposes...the tub will be clean and you will not have done the work and the kids won't wear those flip-flops in the tub anymore if they are the one who have to clean it.
