Space220 lounge combining ADRs

I had a 4 + 2, and they couldn't combine them. It was a 2 top and a 4 top.

Confused by these cost complaints, though. We had one drink and some calamari, which I thought were reasonably priced and OK.
The price complaints are for the restaurant not the lounge. You ate at the lounge. The restaurant is a set price meal.

The allergy accommodations were dismal. They doubled fries on our sons plate and refused to grill veggies.

We did like the atmosphere and appetizers- barrata and calamari, hence willing to give the lounge a try.

They can’t accommodate our DS6’s allergies anyway so he will only be getting a drink (gave him fries and a dried microwaved chicken when we went for dinner last Nov). No dessert options other than a berry sorbet which he wouldn’t touch. He ate a few fries and that was it. My birthday dinner - steak was tough and over cooked and missing special order birthday dessert. They took 2.5 hrs so I’m actually forcing everyone to give it another try at the lounge as the rest of the party did like the appetizers. I gave up a Dinner ADR for 5 recently as no one wants to repeat that dismal experience. We received no trading cards despite asking twice (should have gotten 3).

Our now almost 3 year old did love the atmosphere and looking at the dog, astronauts and ‘planes’ and ate off our plate last time.
They could give him fries though? My daughter has many allergies and that’s the story for us at many Disney restaurants but I’ve been afraid to try this. I’d be ok with just fries for her if they could be safe for her. (Milk, egg, pn/tn, seeds, seafood )

His allergies are milk, eggs, cashews, sesame seeds and kiwi (none are from airborne particles; only ingestion). We submitted a special diets form several weeks in advance and a chef called me to arrange a special dessert for me so I had high hopes that they were confident that they can accommodate him. I have never been to a restaurant at this price point where they couldn’t give him something. The waitress seemed like they could and kept going back to the kitchen to check. It seemed like the chef wanted to close up shop and just didn’t want to put in any extra effort. Fries aren’t even an appetizer they are a side. My kids don’t eat loads of junk so when I say he ate a few fries I mean just a few and was hungry when we left. Everything closed so we couldn’t buy him anything. The manager did stop by quickly and apologize but that’s it. Even CRT few years ago gave him some grilled veggies, fruit and chicken way back when they did zero modifications.

We usually just get him guacamole beans and rice from the QS in Mexico and will be doing that going forward, hence trying the lounge next trip as he is a big ‘space’ fan and knows all his planets and the atmosphere was cool.

Definitely book CRT for your daughter. They gave our son spaghetti with chicken (juicy) and marinara sauce on the side and they had ripple milk and a dessert (he was so full, so forgot what he had); Topolinos did the same and for breakfast they have just egg brand vegan eggs and a full allergy friendly pastry basket and vegan waffles!!; Steakhouse71 has Tofutti ice cream and also great accommodations for our sons allergies. Ohana’s noodles and meats are ok; they gave him a sundae with vegan ice cream and allergy friendly cookies. His favorite dessert is at BOG, their vegan dessert is awesome. He can get a full meal there as well.

Also, if you call Erin McKenna in advance (a weeks notice) they can deliver allergy friendly desserts to CRT

That is totally disappointing that you followed the protocol with advance notice and there wasn't more options. I agree not worth price, Did they charge you for a meal for him or just the fries? I would have to feed my daughter something else, but would be nice to get the experience, is that what you mean by going back to lounge? Thanks so much for your info, we've been to WDW a couple times but every experience with allergies I learn more,

No discounts even for no dessert for me. We paid full price for him and I. Our ADR was for 7:20 pm. We checked in at 7 pm but missed fireworks and exited the park at 10:30 pm (last call on the skyliner; CMs said line was 45 mins but was actually around 20).

Regarding the allergies - it's awful, and I'm sorry you experienced that, but I'm also not surprised. They're not a Disney owned restaurant and from what I understand it's the ones that are Disney owned that do the best job. I have allergies to gluten and sugar and they couldn't accommodate me at all.

Regarding your original question, I think the issue is going to be that the two 2-tops may be on opposite sides of the lounge, so they may not be able to physically seat you together. I think your best option is what someone else mentioned - Parent 1 and Child 1 go eat while Parent 2, Child 2 and Baby do other things. Then, Parent 2 and Child 2 go eat with Parent 1, Child 1 and Baby go do other things.

It’s during the holidays, so I’ll send a request through the concierge but Im not too hopeful. If they can’t accommodate, we will just go at 11:40 and 12:50 pm and just take something to go for our 3 year old (we will have to buy something from the Mexican Pavillion for our 6 year old anyway). I think that’s the easiest thing to do.

I’ll also put in an alert once Fantasmic releases (it’s just ridiculous that they have us jumping through all these hoops).

Update: so I had been able to modify the table for 1 to a table for 2. These tables of 2 are around the tables for 4. I was told they couldn’t change anything for the 11:40 (I expected that). Restaurant opened at 11:30 am and you cannot mobile check in earlier. So I went with my teen and she just had the pop rocks drink and deviled eggs; I had a drink (planetary punch and the sliders (was very filling and I didn’t want dessert) and we were out in about 40 mins.

All waits were 45 mins to an hour (even the Nemo ride) so the rest of our party came back from the seas pavilion and another CM took over (seemed like a senior CM) I believe her name was Trish (Long Island, NY). She said she could seat us close (there was on table of two before us) and the 5th person could come in and hold our 3 year old on our lap. We got seated shortly before 12:50 pm and had a great time. We finished around 2 pm (our 6 year old is a slow eater).

Note on allergies: despite the Chef assuring us that our son could get noodles with grilled chicken, they still refused. I believe it’s due to a lack of communication between the waiters and chef. He had contacted me the same day saying they were out of vegan chocolate cake and he can give the carrot cake instead, but again once seated we were not given that option and refused. I believe the waitress didn’t bother checking with the chef despite us insisting we had already spoken to him (just two hours before we got sat).

Our son had a bite of an allergy safe burger (bun with meat no toppings) and some fries with apple juice and gelato.

Also you have to insist on getting the cards. The waitresses are not giving them out without repeatedly asking (last year they didn’t give them at all despite asking 3 times).

I contacted the Chef and told him what happened. The Chef contacted the Manager (he didn’t have to and went above and beyond to resolve this). The Manager called me today and apologized. At first she said we never checked in 😔 when I started naming the person who checked us in she finally found us and knew where we were seated. She even knew that 2 of us were accidentally seated in the lunch area at 11:40 am and we had Victoria as our server. I detailed what happened and that we couldn’t get what we had already ordered with the chef. She wanted the name of the waitress (I do have photos from a distance but we chose not to pursue it further as it’s a training issue and I don’t believe it was the waitresses fault necessarily).

She asked if I was in Florida, and if we will come back to WDW. I said we probably will sometime later this year. She said she will make sure we are accommodated and will seat us (just to make sure we are accommodated, not clear?). She said she will retrain her staff.

They’re still relatively new so hopefully they can get a handle on this. CRT we got a really bad server (Kathy who was short and condescending but got a grip when the Chef came and apologized (he was taking over for the original Chef I spoke to).

Great to hear your were able to follow up. The chef took his own time to work with you and that has to be frustrating for him/her as well. I really hope the manager follows through on the training and improves their standards. Thank you for taking the time to let them know!

Oh my gosh that’s ridiculous. Did you consider asking for the manager? I know you don’t want to make a scene or get upset on vacation. But when you just talked to the chef 2 hours before, this was inexcusable.

And not getting the cards again? Terrible. We’re a party of 2 adults. We’ve eaten there twice & I ordered one of the specialty nonalcoholic drinks that comes with the cards. Both times the waitress brought them with the drink. I didn’t ask or mention them at all. This restaurant has been open since end of September 2021. There’s just no excuse for this nonsense.

Looking forward to trying to get this ADR when I go in Sept. We have a group of 7 so not looking forward to trying to get the booking, especially as it will be two bookings. Some great tips here though

The cards weren’t given out without asking for them. I just wanted to make sure kids had something. We got a set of 3, none for the kids meals, only the extra drinks we ordered - 2 space rocks and 1 alcoholic (I believe that’s all we were supposed to get).

We were sat on two different tables and I had our 3 year old on my lap (2 tables of 2). My DH did show the email and said that we had spoken to the chef already. After 2 tries of her going back and checking with the kitchen we were already 30 mins into drinks so he didn’t want to argue further. We did get a meal even though our son didn’t eat much so I wasn’t expecting a refund. We were at the lounge and should have just ordered a drink for our son (and beans/rice from Mexico QS; lesson learned for the future).

We paid for 4 lunch meals and dessert at our 12:40/50pm ADR in addition to our earlier ADR. Because I was in the party they wouldn’t seat 5 of us in the lunch section unless all 5 of us ordered lunch (I was too full from the sliders and drinks I had) although there was standby dinner available at opening (no lunch or lounge standby). This was Jan 2nd, and a sold out Epcot day. But I believe they don’t seat lounge standby anymore.

I tried modifying my ADR the day before and I was able to get to the second screen and MDE froze. It showed the time (lounge) as available for 4 but wouldn’t modify my ADR. I know from the past you need to manually cancel Space220 lounge. I was trying to grab Topolinos back in April and had Space220 lounge so the system wouldn’t allow me to choose Topolinos and automatically cancel Space220 lounge.

The other meals we had were excellent and as expected in terms of quality, taste and value. Our teen’s nut/seed allergies were accommodated easily. The atmosphere is really cool and relaxing. I wouldn’t hesitate to book if you haven’t been.

I don’t think we will be rushing back due to our son’s allergies and we usually go to WDW during food and wine festival.
