Space Mountain with a brave 6 year old?

My daughter loved it. We were a little nervous. I sat in the front, she sat in the middle, my husband sat in the back. He was able to reach up and hold her hands/shoulders. She didn't need it, but I think it helped to know that he was right there within reach.

Last May my DD was 4 years 3 mos old and she rode it twice while sitting next to DH buckled in together. She is big for her age. The first time she stuffed her face into his arm, the 2nd time she loved it! She can't wait to go on it again next March!

Did you ride at Disneyland? Disneyland's Space Mountain, you are seated next to each other. At the Magic Kingdom, you are seated in front and behind, not next too.

My point being, you will not have direct contact at MK. Unless like I said before, you sit behind and reach forward.

My middle son is a big daredevil and loves coasters. He had to wait until our last trip to ride at 6 yrs old because he is tiny. He barely met the height requirement and he has prescription orthodics and he only weighs 35 lbs now. He absolutely loved it and can't wait to be tall enough to ride RNR.

My son rode Space Mountain for the first time when he was 3, and yes, he's tall. This, however, was in Disneyland where you ride side by side, so I was able to keep an eye on him. He loved it and has been a coaster freak ever since! I'm sure he'll be fine as long as he knows he has to remain seated and not stretch his arms out for any reason. Have fun!:D
