About 3 years ago, DH went on Space Mountain and were totally blown away by the awesome soundtrack they added to the ride. We have been back annually and have never heard the music again. We will be at DL 9/8-9/12. Have any of you recent travelers experienced the ride with the music lately? Do they even play the music anymore?

haha I would like to know what is up with the music as well! I was there last week and no music. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. it's an added bonus when it's working :D

I rode Space 3 times last week. The first time the soundtrack was playing and was great to hear. Sadly, the last two times...no music.:( I couldn't begin to tell you why.

Have you tried seeing if the music was available to put on a CD in the music store on Main Street? Might be...

We actually own a copy of the music. We found it on some compilation several years ago. It has Space Mountain, Pirates, Splash Mountain, etc. But, the ride is just sooooo much better with the music. I am spolied by it now! I am curious though, they have a shop that allows you to select your favorites and make your own CD? Where and how much?

It's the music shop on Main Street. They have a pair of kiosks that allow you to pick music from various areas of the park. The only time I've bought one was at WDW, but I imagine it'd be about the same - $20 more or less.

Last time we there, a CM told us that the sound system in the cars breakdown a lot. Hence, there goes a lot of the experience. :-(

I agree - once you experience the ride with the music, it is SO disappointing when the music isn't on. I don't really enjoy the ride that much anymore without the music. The last time I was there, in May, the music was on and off intermittently throughout the day, and it even went off in the middle of our ride!

Hope they get the kinks worked out of this very soon.

I agree that Space Mountain is so much better with the music. By the way I believe that music is done by "Dick Dale, King of the Surf Guitar."
