Space Mountain Rehab

Well, I can understand. I don't think any closure can make me feel like I no longer want to go, but if your favorite is closed down, I can see how that would affect you.

A lot of folks will give you grief for saying it's a deal-breaker. But Space is almost as Disney as Cinderella Castle and it is a VERY big deal for some folks. I can see people postponing a trip until it is back up.

I wouldn't put off a trip for any one ride, but I can see it.

We moved our trip 2 weeks because Splash Mountain was closed. That's our favorite ride.

I'm ok with the grief I'll get. I don't want anyone that also may feel as we do to miss this. Because I don't think they'll be telling you this when you call to reserve. And I may be wrong but I think the kids will want to wait.

The tomorrowland transit authority is closed too until Space Mountain is back up :(. I'm bummed that both are down. Last time we skipped space mountain because it broke down twice during our visit so I do think it needs the rehab. TTA is one of my favs.

But I can see it as a big deal breaker for you. If they rehab it with the music and stuff I will be a little sad I never got to see the old school space mountain. I'm a freak and like the old rides just as the park was when it opened. I know some people prefer the upgrades and new stuff though.

no, the TTA closes when Space Mountain does, but it's scheduled to open a few months prior to Space Mountain re-opening.

Any idea when? Do you know also when they expect SM to be reopened?

With the Hall of Presidents, Space Mountain, and TTA/Peoplemover all being down at once the Magic Kingdom is suddenly a lot less magical.

Actually, for the past few trips I've been wanting to spend one day off the trip at Universal. Now I have my excuse!

Every year attractions are taken down for rehab. You will never get 100% open rides during any visit. You appear to go quite often, if you were there when the Haunted Mansion was closed, you should be aware of this trend. I think you are a very hard person to please.

:rotfl2: thanks
Oh and generally they close rides for rehab during non-peak times

of course I know...

Space: 4/19 - 11/21
TTA: 4/19 - 8/19

as of today anyway

We had 100% open rides for a portion of our early December, 2007 visit. It was even value season. But that is rare.

Someone mentioned the hall of presidents being down? when is it suppose to be back up?

Thanks!

Right now, I think it's supposed to re-open on July 4th/July 4th weekend, with the new president (well, not the actual president, he's going to be very busy in Washington, but an animatronic model!) and better lighting and sound as well.

I've merged these threads about the Space Mountain previously announced rehab.
