Space Mountain Question

I have a question. I have been many times to WDW but I have never noticed. Iam going next month with my partner and we are taking my 5 year old niece. Does any know if she can sit with me or my partner during the ride? There seems to be plenty of room.

the seats are three to a car, front to back, with dividers. I was very hesitant to let my DDs ride this way, what DH and I do is we each take a child, have them sit in the front location, then we sit behind and I usually have a hand on DD. What bothers me is the lack of restraint other than the lap bar but we have never had any problem, even with our younger, skinny minnie daughter.

we rode with our DD in the middle of the car, DH in front, then DD, then Me. I ride leaning forward with my hands on DD's shoulders.

I don't recall there being enough room for an adult and a small child to ride in one seat. The restraint bar is rather large and with the cars tossed from side to side and lurching back and forward I doubt the staff members would allow a child to ride in front of an adult for fear of injury to the child.

Only one person is allowed per seat. So no, a child could not sit on an adult's lap. There are 3 seats in a car, however, so the child can sit in the seat directly in front of you.

The cars used to have room for 4; 2 together in front, 2 together in back, I think, anyway. Now, not so.

I'm sure that your DNeice will be safe in her own seat. Otherwise, Disney would be taking a huge risk..something that they likely aren't doing. You will be able to sit directly behind her. Have fun!

I remember actually sitting in the little tube with my mom when I was little, but now it is one person per seat.
