Where did you get this info? I've never heard of this before!

Here is some info http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al082509a.htm

By late September, more DCA construction and the latest version of HalloweenTime will be underway, with the nightly Halloween Screams fireworks featuring a flying Zero sure to be a crowd pleaser. While official confirmation of getting Captain EO into the mix in time for Halloween is not yet clear, the Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy will create plenty of buzz on its own.

There is a real concern now that the Halloween overlay for Space Mountain, featuring rather creepy onboard music, screeching ghosts and ghouls, and frightening visual effects, may prove too scary for young children tall enough to ride but not yet ready for an intense fright-fest. Ghost Galaxy is definitely a more amped up version of the regular Space Mountain, and park management is now trying to decide how to make it clear this could be a very scary experience for school-aged children.

And of course there's the new Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy that TDA was forced to admit to in a huff after we alerted you to it. Ghost Galaxy will be using some of the special effects equipment installed back in 2006 for the failed Rockin' Space Mountain promotion, but there will also be new lighting and props installed along the track and in the loading area during the two week refurbishment this September. Once that new Ghost Galaxy equipment is installed and tested, future versions of Ghost Galaxy should only require a few days of rehab instead of two weeks.

I tried to watch it on youtube but it didn't photograph well. I think it is going to be really freaky and looks like you fly into a ghost/ghouls opening mouth sometimes. I am worried bc Space Mountain was my 4 yr old's favorite ride. This year it will open on our last day and she is convinced she HAS to ride it (5 yr old now). I am worried if she will handle it ok. Anyway, you could try to watch it on youtube -- it is from the Tokyo Disneyland.

That sounds too scary even for me!!!! :rotfl:

I think you brought a good point. I'm going to suggest to my DS6 (who's never riden it before) to skip it this time.

My girls cannot wait to ride this version of Space. They are soooooo excited!! DBF and I will be riding it with them to see the effects for ourselves. We tend to skip Space most times but we do ride it occasionally. :)

I cannot wait to ride this!!!! It sounds awesome.

However, if you are a parent with a small child, you may want to rethink it unless you have rode it first. But if you know your child well enough to be able to gauge their reaction, and know they will accept it, I say go for it!

Youtube! Thanks specialks......I completely forgot to look on youtube to see the Hong Kong version. Just watched it, and while you can't see much, I saw enough to know that I would LOVE to ride it. It sounds super spooky!

Sounds like Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy will be way too scary for my 1st grader. :scared1: I need to make sure myself by giving it a whirl while his mom has him occupied elsewhere. ;)

I will be at DL the weekend this opens and wll try and take a video clip myself. Can't wait!

Wish I could see it! Hopefully I'll get to next year. I'll let them work all the kinks out of it. :rotfl:
