This thread goes so fast I cant keep up and I was there.

I've got family spread out all over the state, but when I come up I usually spend the bulk of my time in my mom's home town. It's a tiny little speck in the SW part of the state. The largest town close to it is Marshall. Where are you??Hey - I grew up in Springfield, MN - about an hour or so from Marshall. What little speck are you from? I bet I not only know it, I bet we either played them in sports or competed against them in speech.

I was born and lived in New Ulm until I was 9 and moved to the Cities. Do we need to sing IASW?![]()

New Ulm??? Really?? I used to work at the McDonalds there. It paid for a good portion of my graduate school. Plus, that was the closest place to see a movie. I remember highway 14 well. Of course, we never played you in sports because your school was too big. Does that make you feel better?

Yeah - well you must be a lot younger than me. When we moved (remember I was 9) there wasn't a McDonalds in New Ulm!! I don't get back there much, we just go as far as St. Peter/Mankato to visit relatives.
Then Carsyn pointed out the woman hanging out the second drive thru window - flapping her arms at us like a crane with wings.
Oh yeah - these new fangled Mc Donald's have a second pick up window.![]()

I think most of the houses I was in while in Ireland had much smaller family rooms then we get here.I have no idea what the State jokes mean but they made me laugh anyway
Glad you found it funny...my best friends live in N Ireland and sometimes the jokes don't transfer as well as I would like.

This picture actually shows my favorite bridge in Austin (that's what that brown arch thingy is, it's hard to tell it's a bridge from the picture),
Is "Brown archy thing" a technical term your Texas architects use?![]()

OK, Dan. As much as that's funny, your forcing me to show a picture of my grandpa. So you'll actually get to see a picture of me too.
I'll post it as soon as I can find it.

OK, Dan. As much as that's funny, your forcing me to show a picture of my grandpa. He's 93, still drives, and lives on his own, hope I'm that with it if I live that long. I need to find it in all of my pictures I'll have to search through.
I have a family picture of my little sisters colllege graduation. So you'll actually get to see a picture of me too.
I'll post it as soon as I can find it.
