My husband and I did the couples massage on our honeymoon there in November and it was AMAZING! We both absolutely loved it! We didn't want to leave. We could have lived in the spa the whole time we were there. We did the 'Ohi‛a Lehua (translates to Love Story) massage for Two, which is their middle couples massage and it was just perfect! I believe it was 80 minutes in total (maybe 90 minutes-- I think we went over a little bit). It consisted of a 30 minute body exfoliation on the table, then a joint shower to scrub everything off (they leave you alone for this part, in case anyone feels like this sounds strange LOL) and then the remaining 50 or so minutes in an all over body massage. It's really amazing and relaxing. You each get to pick your own scents for the scrubs. You also get to indulge in the amazing things the spa has to offer (relaxation rooms, either all men, all women, or a co-ed lounge; steam rooms, showers, the outdoor hydro therapy garden which is a sheer oasis.)
This was really our big splurge on our trip and it was worth every penny! Ten times over. It was our favorite thing of the entire trip! Neither of us have ever been to a spa either, so it's nice to see we both enjoyed it equally! It was very romantic and relaxing. We couldn't stop talking about it for weeks! Everyone at the spa was just wonderful and very professional and comfortable to be around.
My tip would be, when you check in (I believe 45 minutes before your appointment), you can enjoy the hydrotherapy garden. But in our experience after the introduction and tour of the spa's we really only had about 10 minutes to enjoy it. Which is definitely not enough! You can actually stay inside the spa AS LONG AS YOU WANT after your treatment is complete! So long as you don't leave and try to come back. You can even have room service delievered to the garden outside and enjoy your lunch or dinner together in the spa's beautiful hydrotherapy garden after your treatment, and then enjoy the hot tub, reflexology path, or the hydrotherapy showers! We wish we had realized this, and we would have made our appointment for earlier in the day so we had more time to enjoy the spa after our treatment!
Good luck in your choosing! I don't think you can go wrong one way or the other!
