We are anticipating purchasing several souvenirs on our Western May 8-15. We are not going to have room to pack a suitcase in a suitcase (need them for clothes). How do all of you souvenir junkies take them off the ship?? Are you lugging around several shopping bags??

We pack a medium size duffle in our suitcase. We use it during the cruise as a dirty laundry bag and take the dirty clothes home in it. That leaves room in the suitcase for what we bought. It doesn't take up much room in the suitcase on the way down, and gives us lots of room on the way home!

Mary - thanks!! Thanks a great idea! We have a mesh laundry bag we can use and then have leftover space!! Didn't even think about the dirty clothes!

thanks again!

Buy jewelry and wear it off the ship!

we do the same as wdwlvr. dirty laundry always seem to take up so much space. put it in the duffle and you'll have plenty of room for your goodies.

One solution I am hoping to try is using my old seabag for the dirty stuff, freeing up room in the suitcase.

In case you haven't heard of a seabag, it is a very large duffle bag that has an inside diameter of about 20+ inches and stands about 3 feet high. They can hold lots of clothing, especially if you fold your dirt stuff. They also are designed to be folded (inside out) to a very thin square the size of the base (20+ inches).

You can get one on eBay for about $10 or at your local Army/Navy store for abotu $20 I think.

A picture of them and different sizes can be found at:

Hope this helps!!
