Souvenirs from the Parks!

When we stayed at POR in 2001, I was able to small (business card size) "flyer" for each of the restaurants we visited - great for photo albums. Also, I kept the popcorn box to use as a background, napkins with the logo and a sample of a FastPass that we didn't use.

For the ones to buy, of course there are pins. Also, my dd's collected trading cards that was about $2 or so for 5-6 cards. Duplicates can be traded at the purchase sites, like pin trading sites. The girls had a lot of fun and it was much less expensive than the pins.

My Dw would say Xmas baubles! There is always a bauble with the year of your visit, then each park has it's own, then special edition ones......! By the time all the WDW baubles adorn our tree there's not a lot of room for anything else!!

I think the coolest thing ever to get from a park is a Mickey hat with your name on it!

We've done pins but I've never seen the cards, where did you buy them?

TIA

I collect the plastic popcorn containers. I also collect the guides, Fast Passes, schedules, and other misc. freebie items. I have most of these stored in Mickey photo boxes. Oh, and of course the Mickey soaps & such. Those I collect, then donate to a local shelter.

A great everyday souvenir to get is a WDW Pen, I buy several so they last a year and use them at work everyday. There are ones that are more ornate but I get a regular looking black pen with the WDW logo on it..very cool. I also have a whole collection of WDW covered mugs, the steel ones mostly that keep your coffee at work hot better, another good souvenir for everyday use at work.

We also kept the park maps,

As for everyday souveriners Each time i go to the fridge i see my WDW magnets, I have heaps but my favourtie ones are the magic kingdom ones eg. the model castle, magic kingdom with rides and characters, wdw 2003 magnet.

I also got a cup so each time i have a cup of tea i can remember my trip, also got a photo frame to place a disney photo in.

What kinds of media souvenirs do they have?

Meaning DVD/Video products of the parks and how much do they cost?

thanks

oh and what about souvenir park books!

The trading cards can be found at nearly all of the shops inside all four WDW parks and downtown disney.

Then at certain shops or stands, you are able to trade your doubles with a CM to help you complete a set. But the card trading books are hard to find.

The last set that they had was the 100 years of Magic, it covers milestones in the life of Disney and his company.

This is one is for the 1964 World Fair and the creation of "It's a Small World."

They have had sets for 2000 celebrations, the 30th Anniversary celebrations. Then they had a set that had some characters with thier signatures, in either silver or gold. Then on top of trying to get the regular set together, some of the sets had cards that were just released to castmembers. Some times those are easy to find and sometimes not.

Those are just some of the examples of the ones released at the parks. They also have cards that are realeased at you local toy or sports card shop. Like the just released Disney Treasures from Upper Deck.

Since I'm on the computer alot--usually these boards!!!--I bought a Disney Desktop Themes CD for my computer. It was only $15 and it is SO cool!!!! I now have Mickey pointers, Mickey's voice for just about every computer function, and lots of wallpaper and screen savers. Besides Mickey, there is also Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto--all on the same CD. I have had much more than $15 worth of fun with it already!!!!

Pins are fun to collect. I don't do the whole pin tradding bit, but I like to get pins of some of my favorite characters and attractions. I also think that memorobilia from Sid Cahuenga's is a fun and unique souvenir. A lot of times they'll have affordable items like movie posters or lobby cards- sometimes evern $5 or under!

I always buy a small photo album with the year on it, I try to get the one that holds a photo on the front. It's usually around 10.00 so it's not much more than one you would buy at home.
I also always buy myself at least one t-shirt from the resort we are staying at. Last year DH bought the Fantasmic CD and we listened to it all the way to the airport.:(

Pressed pennies are fun! Its like your own little treasure hunt. They are not in all the shops, and some time when you find them they are located behind somehing.

I do the hunt every time that we go to the parks. I have some that you can't even get anymore.

Can't wait until Feb, when I can start the hunt again. I hope that I will find some that I don't have.

I even do a few of the pressed quarters.
